Q&A about individual items, ensembles, and wardrobe

What about MACRO check pants?

http://www.bluefly.com/7-for-A.....detail.fly

I know technically they are houndstooth and not checks, but is that too loud/bold of a print? It's too expensive for me anyway, but I was just curious about what people thought of these.

I like their funkiness and uniqueness, but I think the large scale of the pattern means it would look better on tall gals. And you'd need to be careful what to wear with it so you don't look too costumey.

Personally, I'd wear those in a heartbeat. They are actually on my shopping list. How did you guess :0)

Angie, those are SO YOU! I look forward to seeing them in pictures.

Maya, I have been a longtime fan of macro-check and plaid pants, although for my style I like them best for darker pants in the winter. But I'm much more business-oriented so I go for polished and classic over funky and casual, so take my preferences with a massive grain of salt. :)

Cute, but not for me. The last place that I want to draw attention is my bottom half. They would be adorable on you or Angie.
JC Penney's usually gets some checked pants in for fall. I didn't buy any last year, but the two years before that I did. They fit me well, and were a nice cotton blend- and of course they are very reasonably priced. I will probably get a pair for fall again this year.

My first comment was going to be that I could see those on Angie :)

Love them (although they would be horrid on me) but then agian I have two jackets in that exact print and another in a taupe houndstooth.

I figured you would approve Angie (and probably wear them yourself). But would they work on the rest of us mortals? :)

I would have lapped them up in a second but even on sale, they would need to come down another $20 or so :( So disappointing.

You’ll never know until you try!

Pretty pears and lasses with shorter leg lines should give this look a miss. They are a huge statement on the bottom half of your body so if you’re not fine with that, I say pass. But that doesn’t mean you have to be tall and stick thin to wear the look. I can see you wear these, Maya.

CM had a similar pair last Winter – but they were out of my size before I could blink. They don’t have my size in these either. I hope to get a similar looking pair this year. Perfect with cream boots and bag, a black turtle neck and biker jacket.

I was picturing them with my banded top and gray NC mary janes. I seldom do all neutral outfits, but this one just feels right.

They are in my size and the amount of self control it is taking me to refrain from purchasing them is overwhelming me right now...deep breaths...

Can you return things from bluefly if you don't love them?? If so I'd consider giving them a whirl Maya - you having been longing for microchecks for ages. These are too cute!!

If they had size 30 left I would copy you and be tempted by them too, although the inseam is a bit on the short side for me.

I can return them no problem. They are just too expensive for me right now. I have wanted them for a long time, but I'm trying to work on things I need at the moment. The Anthropologie MC pants were only $20 on sale and that's why I was completely ready to buy them if they didn't sell out of my size :(

I can SO see you in these trousers Maya! You have a funky edge to your style and could totally pull these off.

I want you to have them! There, no help at all right;-)

Not unless you buy them for me Inge :p

I want you to have them too! Do you mind sharing what size you need? I'll be on the stalking team. ;)

Keep your eyes peeled - seems like something you might spot in Nordstrom Rack or on clearance. Not enough women are willing to take a chance on them maybe?
Can see them with a gray shoe like you suggested and a cobalt blue top or coat.
I think you could rock these pants just as much as Angie!

I think the pants are great and would definitely look good on the right person, but I don't think I'm that person. :)

Patience, you can take over for Tanya while she is on hiatus :) I would probably wear a 27.

I like them - I bet they would look great on you! Keep stalking- I hope it works out!
