A dear friend got married this weekend in San Francisco (no travel required--yipee!). It was a truly wonderful event--small(ish), low key and filled with thoughtful details but not over the top and ridiculous. I think everyone had a blast. I did the bride's make-up for the rehearsal dinner and wedding which meant I got some extra time with her which I loved. AND the late afternoon wedding proved the perfect occasion for a 2nd wearing of a MAJOR splurge piece: a red Valentino dress I bought back in January (and wore to the rehearsal dinner at another wedding). Angie, these pics are for you.
For the rehearsal dinner, I wore a Rachel Roy sheath with grey pumps (which you can't see)--I love the contrast of the printed top and the solid bottom but need to get the waist nipped in for it to really fit me nicely.
Apologies for the less-than-flattering dancing shot but I wanted to show how the ruffle that starts in the front works its way to the back of the dress. I must confess that I had some heartburn about this purchase but I love this dress. I feel beautiful and confident in it, it is classic yet unique, the fabric drapes beautifully but is comfortable to wear and I hope to enjoy it for years to come.
