Wearing Color to Fight Off Illness!

That nasty flu is after me! After traveling for ten days, I came home with "something" that is trying to get me. I grew up in a "put a little lipstick on and get on with it" home (which has served me well!) so I am combatting whatever is trying to get me with color. Do any of you do that? I can't give it to it or it will win so color is my armor!

First outfit is a lightweight t-shirt dress with a gorgeous fun print (a pop of Orange!) and I've topped it with a femmed up military inspired sweater and my favorite pair of knee-high suede boots.

#2, 3 and 4 are my new FIND! (I'm still going to get the DV red suede boots that Angie showed us today) but I have been looking for a "red topper"/raincoat that is lightweight and doesn't overwhelm me. I also do NOT like belts on jackets as I don't want to fuss when I'm trying to keep warm and dry. This has the inverted back pleat which I love,buttons down the front with great pockets, a detachable hood and look at the adorable lining....polka dots! I found it a Marshalls (a discount store) for $49, originaly $129. I've got my charcoal ponte skinny cargos and a jersey tee underneath plus my yummy soft leather black Born boots...Flu, beware! Color helps me stay strong!

How can one feel down when wearing great color? It sounds like a good strategy. I especially like the red coat. Great find.

I'll definetelly try this trick next time (to put on a bit of lipstick-and get on with it:-))but at this moment I feel like hopelessly getting in my starting flu:-((... (thus, today I wore reds, too:-))

Oh I hope you start feeling better soon. Take care of yourself! I think using color is excellent therapy. You are doing a great job with that cute dress. The red coat is a SPECTACULAR find. You're right, it doesn't overwhelm you and the color is positively cheerful. I bet you end up wearing it a lot.

I have serious coat envy. I mean it. I have a real THING for red coats, and this one is a complete and total winner! It is SO cute! And what a fantastic bargain.

Since I'm an emotional dresser, I usually wear drab colors when I'm feeling ill. Hmm....I'll have to give this color therapy a try next time.

LUV that red coat! Since it's a rain jacket, is it nylon/polyester? It doesn't look shiny, so that's why I ask.
