To keep or not-have a pair of white linen and a pair of black dressier fabric pants that are the length and width of the ones in the photo. The black ones I would probably wear with higher heeled sandals, but the white linen only with flat sandals. My problem is I feel I do not look very good in this length with flat sandals. I love the ankle length, and just below knee lengths, but only it they are narrower. I think the problem is width, not length. Do you agree, these lengths can look good with almost any shoe, flat or heel, on most everyone?

Experimenting with the summer pants, though has me confused. I am also not happy with gladiator type sandals or any shoes that are higher on legs with any pants that are dark colors with the expanse of bare leg in between. Maybe it is the contrast between the pants and shoes and the bare leg, or just me! GUess that is why I only wear ankle booties with black tights when I wear a skirt or dress. I have longer legs for my height, so with jeans and any other full length pants rolled or not, seems to not create any styling problems for me. Now with warmer weather, time to be getting out my gladiator sandals, wearing my new ankle strap flats, etc. don't know what to keep or purge from the closet, or what to replace purged ones with.

To summerise-to me wide makes me look shorter and dumpy, but narrow does not let air circulate and makes legs hotter. really gets harder to dress for summer when one gets older-too old for sleveless and shorts. sure do envy you youngsters!
