Wardrobe Challenge: One Skirt Three Ways + my outfits

Jane over at Work That Wardrobe posted a new challenge: Take one skirt and style it three different ways on three consecutive days. She later amended the rules so you can wear the same skirt on any three days within the next two weeks. You still have time to participate:

I wanted to take this opportunity to show you some of my recent outfits, which incidentally includes three different ways to style the same skirt. I find this skirt/boot combo very practical. It is the perfect amount of smart casual for my current lifestyle.

The third one was my favorite, very preppy! The shirt is pinstriped with ruffles on trim, which you can't quite see in the picture. One problem is, as Tara had previously pointed out, the sleeves are too long. I will have to have them taken in.

how fun! you're so creative - you're making me want to try the skirt challenge! I am wearing a skirt today...I may be able to get away with wearing it for two more days.

i love your use of scarves! always so chic! what was wrong with 2/23's outfit? i love the sweater!

Thank you! yes, definitely give it a try! Challenges add a new level of fun to dressing up.:)

I think the problem with 2/23's outfit is that it is too blah so it didn't feel like me. If I wore it again, I would tuck in the scarf and add a belt.

What a fun challenge! I love the skirt and look forward to seeing how you style it for spring and summer. I have a similar skirt (Liz) that's now too big and am thinking of trying to get it made smaller unless I can replace it.

This is a great challenge and a wonderful catalyst for creativity, which I love. Think I'll try this one myself, since I've been on a skirt kick. You have a wonderful flair for layering that I have yet to master. Thanks for sharing the ideas and inspiration.

The skirt is definitely a winner. How great its so versatile for you! The first pic is my fave - the navy sweater with the red belt just emphasises your great figure so well!!

I'm wearing a pencil skirt today (again). It’s easy to wear a pencil skirt 3 different ways for three consecutive days. I’m tasking you with an entire week –same pencil skirt! (You can wash it on day 4).

Oh, this sounds like fun, especially as the temperatures vary daily and probably both boots and regular shoes will be worn sometime during the week.

I have the taupe color and it's almost grey. It works very well with brown or black and of course lots of colors. The fabric is a nice quality and it's lined. Love the ruffled hem, especially the back. I have been looking for a pencil skirt with hem detail, but need a petite length so the great Express skirts don't work for me. This one comes in petite, regular and tall. I'm rather straight hipped and have to alter most skirts, but this one fit great in the hips. Great price too.
