Violet - Outfits Week of 9-21-08

It's a bit late, but here are my outfits from the week of 9-21-08. I was in a bit of a funk, fashion-wise last week. I couldn't quite figure out how to transition to fall. It was still really warm, but I wasn't in the mood to wear summery clothing. I know had a few duds last week, but I'm hoping to do better! I've noticed that when I take pictures of my outfits, I see details that I sometimes miss from just looking in the mirror.

YLF has really helped me pay attention to what I wear. I have gotten rid of several items of clothing that don't work any more and I am trying to be more conscious of clothes that work for my body type. It's an ongoing process, so I still might have some off-days, but I am trying to improve!

I took the day off work today and plan to do some shopping so hopefully I will have some pictures of new purchaes!

Monday 9-22-08
This is one of the examples, where I see the outfit does not look good in the picture. These pants have a wide waistband and I didn't notice so much in the mirror that it could be seen under the shirt. I like the shirt, so I'll have to see if I can wear it with different pants

Wednesday 9-24-08
Definitely the worst outfit of the week. Woke up late, rushing around and felt like I didn't have anything to wear.

Thursday 9-25-08
Had a community event for work where we cleaned up a local park, so had to wear a work-issued bright blue t-shirt. It was not a fab look!

Friday 9-26-08
Finally got a bit cooler, so I wore real socks and shoes for the first time in a while! I wear these boots all the time in the fall and winter. I'm going to DSW to see if I can find another pair so these don't wear out. These zip up over the ankle, have a kitten heel and they are super comfortable.

Violet - You look adorable! I think you did fabulously. I like the top from Monday, too. Hope you can find some pants that work. The only thing that I would question, and I'd be interested in thoughts on the look generally, is buttoning the top button of the cardi on the Friday outfit. I'm not sure it works with the neckline of the top. But I think the colors and that outfit generally are great. Thanks for posting.

Looks like you had a nice week! My favorites were Tuesday and Friday. The buttoning of the cardigan didn't bother me so much. The colors were fab together. You have a very nice shoe collection Thanks for posting and hope you come home with some goodies today!

Great week! I especially liked Tuesday and Friday. I'm partial to black and white and it looked great layered and with your red bag. I like those cropped sweaters on you. It's a very flattering look and I like the way you button them.

I agree that taking pictures is a great way to see whether the outfit works. Sounds like you and I are both in the process of cleaning out the closet!

Also, thanks for the suggestions about buttoning the cardi at the middle. I tried that with an outfit I am wearing today and I think it works well!

Angie - I'm glad I didn't make you keel over with the t-shirt. I did think twice about it, but it was just one of those rough days. I found another shirt that will look better with the jacket.

As for the shoes, it's only been in the past couple of years that I have really started to get into expanding my shoe wardrobe. It's been fun and thanks again for the compliments!
