Violet - Outfits Week of 10/19/08

Here are my outfits from this past week. Not a very creative week. It is finally fall weather here. I like fall, but I'm not ready for winter yet. Although we just bought a snow-blower this year, so of course that means it won't snow at all.

I'm going to a "spa party" at a friend's house tonight. It's kind of like a Mary Kay party, except without the make up. We're going to soak our feet and try on different relaxing lotions and such. It should be fun! I'll be changing into lounge-wear for the party before I leave work.

Tomorrow my father-in-law is having a bonfire and hayride at his place in the country. I will be wearing old clothes and sturdy shoes. I want to be warm and I know I will leave with everything smelling like smoke. It should be a good time. I get along quite well with my in-laws. My FiL likes to torture us by making us all crowd together in big family portrait. We all grumble and complain, but make sure to smile pretty for the camera.

P.S. I am really hating my hair lately. It is long overdue for a cut and I finally got one scheduled in a week. I'm debating on whether or not to try something different.

Lovely outfits, Violet, I do not think that they are boring at all! I like them, especially the last one. I also love your color palette and your grey Me Too shoes.

I agree with you that Wednesday top looks a bit too short for pants. It could still work if layered over longer white button-down, so that the shirt hem peaks out underneath. Otherwise it's a great skirt top, especially for a nice denim skirt.

Maybe you didn't feel very creative, but your outfits are solidly fab! It's so hard to pick a favorite, but Monday's color combo jumped out at me as very fresh. I agree with you about Tuesday's top. It would be a good skirt top.

Thanks for the feedback ladies! I really appreciate it. Tanya - thanks for the suggestion about layering Monday's top over a button down. I had not thought about that before, but will definitely try it.

Violet, you look so polished in every outfit. I especially love the wide belted one. It gave the outfit a completely different look. Well done!
I have the same problem with some tops like Wednesdays being too short for pants. Ladies, will wearing a longer cami under such a top work instead of a buttondown if it only shows below the top? How about a long tissue weight turtleneck?

I like all the outfits -- I really like the color of Tuesday's shirt so definitely try it over another top and with skirts. Love the belt on Wednesday!
