Vest - flattering or no

Inspired by YLF discussions, I picked up this houndstooth vest today. I'm not sure if it works for my body type. I was looking for a more solid charcoal one, but haven't been able to find any. I really liked this one at the store, but since the pattern is more pronounced, does it draw unnecessary attention to my torso? It's kind of expensive, so I would only want to keep it if it's not a compromise.
What do you think?

I don't see a pronounced pattern on my monitor. It's a beautiful vest, great texture. I would love to see the back. Vest backs can vary so much, and be interesting.
The double breasted style makes it seem a bit more dressy to me. By that I mean I don't see it being left hanging unbuttoned. I would love to see it with a beautiful feminine blouse. Yum.
I love your jeans and shoes. The jeans fit perfectly and I love the dark wash. I love the rich color of the shoes. Would you mind telling us what brand they are. You look great.

Antje, I got it from Club Monaco. They also had a very similar glen plaid one, but thinner material - more like wool gabardine. I probably spent half an hour going back and forth between the two. The saleswoman must have thought I was nuts. Here is the back, sorry, not on me:

I've been seeing many racerbacks so it was one of the attractive features.

It's a 10. You look great! I'm not having any success with my denim vest. Maybe it's not cropped enough. It makes me look even more flat chested than I am.
