I'm feeling better since starting on a vegan diet with my youngest DD. I do occasionally eat meat or seafood and other non-vegan things (only when out to eat, which is once a week), but the rest of the time I adhere to the diet. I don't want to stress about the times when I'm at a restaurant that doesn't offer anything vegan. My DD and I do our best to avoid cheese, meat if possible (not always possible), etc. but I don't lose sleep over it if I have to stray from the diet for one meal a week.

We will be spending Christmas vacation with my DH's family, however, and they are not anywhere close to vegan. As a matter of fact, their diet is very unhealthy. My SIL's DH has high cholesterol and is overweight; but instead of making him change his diet, she tells him to eat 5 slices of pizza instead of 6, etc. None of my business, except that while we're with them, my DD and I are probably going to have to go non-vegan so as not to upset anyone. They are great people, but I've already heard them criticize other family members (other side of family) who are vegan, so I don't want to rock the boat. We'll just do our best to eat as healthy as possible.

The main thing I'm noticing is less digestive issues (more than likely from avoiding dairy) and slow but steady weight loss. I also feel like I have more energy.
