After looking through the various responses to the V-neck challenge, I'm super impressed with the variety of looks the other ladies have developed, and kind of feel like I didn't go as far as I could have. I still had a blast revisiting old, colorful V-necks that are still in good condition. I think I'll actually incorporate this look into my business casual rotation because I tend to get chilly at work, and I LOVE the way I can layer them over woven button-downs for added warmth and crispness.
Two years ago I wore V-neck sweaters a lot with dress slacks to work, typically like this.
Here's how I wore the look this week:
#1 - Monday: Dark violet button-down shirt, black pencil skirt, bronze beaded necklace, emerald V-neck sweater, black patterned tights over gray solid hose, black booties
#2 - Tuesday and #3 - Wednesday:
Tuesday - denim pencil skirt, teal button-down with neck tie, purple V-neck sweater, brown tights, brown riding boots, small turquoise earrings
Wednesday (what I plan to wear tomorrow): black pencil skirt, black woven top, cerulean V-neck sweater, black and white zebra-striped belt, black peeptoe pumps, white "pearl" necklace
For the life of me, I can't figure out why I used to feel uncomfortable and fussy when I tried this look
Bonus: This was before the challenge was issued and wasn't an actual V-neck sweater, but as a plain, solid sweater I still feel like it captures the intent of the challenge.
