UWP NYE w/ a fab necklace gift!

1- A dear friend gave me this amazing necklace, made from a bullet casing and real crystal - SO fabulously UWP! Even more special because I remember once stringing a bullet casing on a chain when I was younger; this is a beautiful and much better-made version that brings back some fun memories! 2- For NYE day, I paired wore the necklace over my fishtail coat, and I think it was really fun with the zippers and hardware. We went out for some errands, a walk outside, and sushi lunch.

3-4 is what I wore for NYE dinner at an Italian restaurant. Since hubs decided to stay in, I got to bust out the UWP sweater for its maiden voyage. At first, I styled it with my new spat boots (pic 5), but I thought the long lines of my hair and sweater needed a longer boot for balance. Pics are fuzzy because the den was occupied with a new amp for hubs.

All in all, a really fun NYE - it felt good to ring in a new year sporting my newfound style persona and pieces that carry warm memories from the past year. Happy 2012, everyone!!

Hooray for the Urban Warrior Princess! I love the new necklace, it's uber cool! The fishtail parka is perfect over your UWP sweater.Tall boots are perfect, but I would have loved to have seen the new spat boots for comparison. I love the whole vibe and I'm glad you had a good time.

That blue jacket is so great! You showed a picture of it before, but were you wearing it? Anyway, it's perfect. That was a good find at a good price.

What caliber is your necklace? (I'm trying to figure out the size--- it should be printed on the bottom of the casing around the primer). Pretty! My brother made some gorgeous and slightly UWP jewelry for his girlfriend out of deer antler.

I love the fishtail parka-- actually, I love most of your jackets. One of the pieces I hope to find this fall is a olive mid-hip military jacket similar to your citron number.

I'm not a UWP candidate-- but I definitely love the military/factory worker/mechanic-inspired elements you combine into your style.

Awesome Rae-- the hand shot helped, plus it didn't hurt that there was a .50cal shell laying around. That is quite a statement piece-- gorgeous!

Helen, it's nothing sinister. My sister and I used to join a freind's family to go camping in the desert - someone or another's uncle usually brought guns for us all to shoot cans with. But I bet if I tried to wear a bullet on a string to school these days, they'd expel me..

Luckily, I am not bothered by the amp. He was testing it out that day, but we will only use it when we eventually play outside the home (hubs is teaching me to play bass so he can perform his music live someday).
