I've been looking for a nice, non-puffer winter coat for awhile and was surprised to find high-end designers (Sentaler, Burberry, etc.) making winter coats unlined. The coats I was considering were made from either pure cashmere or alpaca/wool. I understand that a lining might add slight bulk to thicker coats, but omitting one strikes me as really cheap. I can't imagine that unlined cashmere or alpaca coats would be warm enough for typical Canadian winters. Or am I wrong?
