Two sheath dresses...help me decide!

Hi ladies!

My husband and I have an opportunity to go away for the weekend next month and I'm trying to decide on a dress to wear out for dinner.

The first one is new. Does the purse work? Any suggestions on accessories? Here it is:

The next dress I've had several years and have worn several times before. What about accessories with this one?

I like both dresses, Debora. The second one seems more casual than the first, so I guess my answer about which dress and accessories would depend on what type of restaurant you are going to.

I also love the black and white dress. The shoes look good and the bag adds a lovely shot of colour. I think the necklace is a bit dainty i'm thinking chunky black beads close fitting to the neck x

Wonderful black and white dress and superb yellow bag! Very fab. I like loulou’s suggestion of a chunkier necklace, but the one you have is fine if that’s all you have.

The second frock is sweet too and fits well. You look great either way, Debora!

Another vote for the first dress, and I'd like to see a chunkier necklace too if that's possible. If not, you look great. Pretty yellow bag!

I vote for the first dress because you can do so much with it. The yellow bag is a great start!

If it were mine, I would probably wear a chunky, long purple necklace and carry the yellow bag. Or maybe wear purple heels if I had them. Have fun with different color combos -- look at a color wheel for inspiration if you get stuck.

I personally LOVE a b/w & yellow combo.

Both outfits are fab! I like how the second one defines your waist a little better but I find the first one to be more current in its print. A chunky necklace (red or turquoise) and maybe a watch or silver bracelet might be the perfect accessories. Grab a cardi for warmth & you would be all set - the yellow bag is great!

That first outfit is perfect Debora, such a beautiful dress.

The second one is lovely too, you certainly rock sheath dresses! How about pairing it with a chunky turquoise necklace?

Both dresses look great on you and I especially like the black and white dress. It looks great with the yellow bag and you could also add accessories in red. Have you tried belting it?

I agree with Inge that a turquoise necklace would be a good accessory for the second dress.

Yay! Now I can justify keeping the new dress. Thanks, ladies!!!

I really wanted something new and special to wear since my husband and I rarely get away, just the two of us. I think we have actually only gotten away by ourselves maybe 3 or 4 times in the 25 years we have been parents.

Loulou, Laura and Angie - I agree that the dress needs a chunkier necklace. I've actually been out looking the past few days but haven't found the perfect one yet. That's why I love this forum so much. You ladies give great input!

Shana, Inge and Violet - Wow! I hadn't thought of red or turquoise! I think that would give me more options for experimenting with different looks. I especially like the suggestion of pairing the second dress with a turquoise necklace. Great way to add some excitement to an old look.
