Y'all are probably sick of seeing me in leather jackets by now, but I just got another one in, and I'm liking it.

For once, I have the option of sizing up or down, but fit feels good. Close, but not restrictive. It does zip, but I didn't bother because I don't intend to wear that way, and it just seems to confuse the issue. I like the color, but I'd be okay if it darkened a bit with age.

This jacket has the best fit, but I am a slightly more partial to the darker shades of brown on you. However, camera lighting can be tricky, so it's hard to say. If you're happy with the colour, go for it!

Yup....this is IT.

I actually quite like this tan over the darker Browns. Now this jacket might be the least expensive of the ones you tried, but it looks classic, luxe and quite unique. Definitely a keeper. The fit looks good.

Phew! Finally!!! Btw you've taught me a very valuable lesson ---- don't compromise, don't give up, and don't settle for second best when it comes to your style. Thankyou for that!

It looks great on you! Nice fit, and while it is a more refined look than some of the others we had high hopes for, I can see it fitting in with your wardrobe. In reality, there is a range of styles and shades that could work well for you. It goes really well with the outfit you have on--and what a gorgeous blouse, by the way.

I love the color on you. Have you held it up to the garments you plan to wear it with to see if it coordinates? I like to do the closet color test. I bring a new item into my closet and hold it up. I can see everything and right away, I know if it's too far off the color palette in spectrum, or intensity to work with what I have. If it looks okay, I can hold it up to individual items, or if I'm very energetic and have time for a try on session, I will pull some things and try them with the new garment.

Angie, I wasn't happy with the darker color of that moto, but the real deal breaker was that my husband didn't like it at all. He's traveling right now, but we'll see how he feels about this one.

I'm curious why so many seem to be concerned about this one matching my wardrobe? I see it as a neutral.

Maybe because it's got a lot of warmth, yellow to it? Not sure that I'm seeing the color right, but it does seem "more colored" than some of the other ones you've shown. And certainly that is not a bad thing- I like this coat! And maybe too because in one of the posts you had a picture with your handbag & shoes? Curious to hear what your husband thinks.

I think of cognac/caramel as a color - depending on tone and saturation,
I find it strangely hard to match in my wardrobe of black, grey, ink/navy, citron and cool reds. I own nothing in this color! But you wear different colors than I do. It's a color I associate with classic cool Frye boots like the Campus style. Terrific fit!

I used to wear earth tones, so I would consider this a neutral. I think the color is very good for you. I was wondering about the fit, though, all the folds or wrinkles emanating from your shoulders.

If this color seems like a neutral to you, that's probably a good sign that it melds with the colors in your closet.

I am beginning to think there is not a jacket on earth that I could try on and get a chorus of "YES"s and "Keep!"s. It seems like my upper body isn't an off-the-rack size, and this isn't an item that's easily altered.

I had the same question as JAileen about the fit through the shoulders and bust. I think the color looks nice on you as it is neutral, but I understand why people are asking. I usually see you in cooler colors, but that doesn't mean this can't work.

The bottom line is really not what we think, although I understand the desire for feedback. How do YOU feel when you put it on? Can you not wait to wear it? Are you concocting outfits and excuses to break it out? If it makes you happy to put it on and goes with your wardrobe, then I say keep! If you have reservations, and the questions people are asking are pinging any doubts you may have, I say keep looking. It's funny, I find jackets even when I'm avoiding buying more of them, but have to turn the world upside down to find a dress or pants that get a resounding yay. We all have items that elude us for one reason or another.

Wait... cooler colors? Me? Am I totally misinterpreting my wardrobe? I thought I had basically NO cool colors, unless you count black and denim. Most of my burgundies and olives have warm undertones, and my whites are cream/ivory.

Ah, I have your plums/burgundies and olives in mind, to me they are sort of "tempered" warm colors if you know what I mean -- the kind of warm colors I can wear, unlike really warm colors like oranges and yellows. And of course your black and grey and denim. Hard to tell in photos whether your white tops are warm in tone. Maybe I'm remembering your colors wrong!

Ahh, yeah, I can see that, Janet. All my colors do tend to be pretty muddy. So I wear rust and burgundy and mustard, but never yellow! or red! or orange! And I do wear navy quite a bit.

Aww minimalist. Thank you! That was sweet. I'm glad you liked it! I should say that my husband would never straight up veto an item of clothing I wanted. When he says, "Meh, it's okay," and shrugs, though, I take it as a sign that's not something I want to be wearing often and keeping for years. I never thought of going to Etsy for a leather jacket, because I'm a little wary of buying custom clothing without any in-person measurements. I don't mind doing it through eShakti, because I know I can still return, but most Etsy sellers can't afford to offer such liberal return policies. I'll admit, though, most of my jewelry does come from other sellers, often through trades at shows!

I hesitated to comment on this one also because of the colour -- it feels more caramel vs. tan/ cognac/ luggage. I do think this works brilliantly with white, cream, denim, navy, black, and charcoal. It will be a tougher fit with some others, however.

Let's see a comparison post between this one and the moto (if you don't mind).

And if neither is "the one" do not despair. I gave up on finding a blue leather moto for 3 years and then stumbled upon the perfect one when I wasn't even looking. I worried that it was "past due" if you know what I mean -- and that I wouldn't wear it all that much. Au contraire - it became an instant workhorse and I am glad I waited.
