I've started seeing this happen here in Amsterdam and Rotterdam. Not only for the ladies, also a few young men of colour wearing it to great effect.

I remember this trend fondly from the early aughts, and I'm fully on board for this summer. How about you?

I'm all for having lots of choices! Of course, living in the midwest, trends are slower to arrive. I'll be happy to see this one back!

I think it looks cool but it's a trend I'll be sitting out. I just don't like all that fabric around my midsection. It would be so fussy dealing with two waistbands.

Yes. That's the Apron Look I talked about in my trends post.

Not into that precise version, but will wear dresses over skinnies again no problem - just like I did on 2005.

I like some of these looks, but like Angie, am mostly interested in dresses over skinnies. I think I am going to start a new thread on how to do it right in 2015.

I did the dresses over jeans things (and still do on occasion, although nowadays my dresses are more like tunics) but never the skirts. I think Sara's right about the two waistbands being so chunky and uncomfortable.

Good to know. I'm feeling the dress option rather than the skirt as well, but, full disclosure, I'm wearing a chiffon skirt over tailored skinnies today, giving a purpose to a closet orphan.

I must say I like how it looks. No problem with bunching waistbands, apart from a moment of entanglement in a public bathroom.

It's an interesting look. Personally not a huge fan as it basically takes away the comfort of skirts by including pants!

I had a look through your example link and I'm more taken with the looks where the trousers are very skinny and there is more of a sort of apron effect with a slit. Interesting. I'm not sure I will adopt the style, but If I found the right look you never know! Angie's dress over skinnies sounds do-able, I think.

Yeah, this is a difficult look, very urban and certainly not for everyone. I'm not sure the quick shot on the porch does it justice, but I have to admit I'm quite taken with it. It might get repeated with some tweaks.

Approprio, I like your version. I like the color combo and the chiffon skirt over crisp, narrow pant legs. I also think it's nice that the skirt isn't too voluminous--it's in keeping with the narrow silhouette overall.
Thanks for providing the link. I liked quite a few of the examples, but I also found a lot of them too hectic and piled-on looking for me. I've been wearing more tunics and leggings recently, and I've done skirts and dresses over leggings. I'm intrigued by the skirt-over-dress idea and will probably wear skirt or dress over pants at some point, too.

The slideshow was interesting--I either loved the look or hated it depending on the type of skirt. It looks great if it's an uncomplicated skirt and not too long. The model with the white blouse and short black skirt--beautiful look.
