I am having a heck of a time finding a dress to wear to an evening wedding in early June. My plan was to wear something silk and noticeably dressy because I feel this is what is most appropriate considering the location and the individual.

The selection in my town very limited. Even more so because I'm trying to be budget conscious because I need everything (dress, bag, shoes, bra). I've been hesitant to order anything online because my size is fluctuating, but I took a chance on this purple Rebecca Taylor dress. Unfortunately it seems much more casual than I expected and is probably too short. I must have been distracted by the purple and the neckline and forgot to read the fabric content (a rayon blend). My gut says this is too casual, but what do you think? Can it be saved if I doctor it up with the right accessories or should I keep looking?

ETA: Just walked into my bedroom and now that the lighting is better there is no question the fabric is too casual. And you are all affirming my fears about the length. Onward!

Other options in my closet. LBD. I bought it for a funeral, so not my first choice for a fun night out. Teal silk. Last time I posted this to the forum people did not like it. Ha! Just looking at these other options is continuing to confirm how wrong the other dress is. The power of closet comparison!
