The fact that people observe toe cleavage as something sexual skeeves me out like nothing else. It wouldn't stop me from wearing it if the shoe was comfy and cute, but I always find it jarring and uncomfortable to be made aware of people's fetishes. Yes, I realize most people have them, but please, I would really rather not think about the conductor on the train getting off on my ballet flats. No, really.

To me, excessive toe cleavage really throws off the lines of the shoe...I mean, really - how does it stay on your foot without some amount of vamp? To me, the less vamp, the less design on the shoe. It also really, truly looks like the shoe does not fit. I find that off-putting.
