Thwarted by the weather AKA why do I bother?

I bought some new tees a couple of weeks ago. I have nice sandals in my wardrobe, a couple of dresses and skirts.... and today... I'm wearing two long sleeved layers and I have had to turn on the heating!!! Ugh! Why do I bother? It has rained persistently all day on Friday and today with no sign of let up. and now to add insult to injury the temperatures have plummeted too. Good old British weather eh?

i hear you. we've hardly had any real heat this summer, and almost none last summer, which is unusual for where i live. we don't usually have a great deal of sun, but this year it rained all but 4 day during the month of June! in the past 2 years, i've added an assortment of lightweight "summer" pants, and long sleeve tees to my closet. these seem to help bridge the gap between true summer and whatever it is we've got now.

Sounds like you have similar problems Kkards :(. I thought I had done pretty well in getting transitional wear sorted, but today it feels more like early winter! It's so disappointing as well, as I haven't long bought a few new items and can't wear them.

Sounds heavenly to me! We are solidly in the 90s with heavy humidity. I'm thinking a 2 week house swap is in order;-)

Well, you have to plan a holiday somewhere sunny (I don't recommend Paris, it's raining here too).
You can't let your tees go to waste, I'm new to the YLF forum, but I'm pretty sure there's a YLF rule against not wearing the heck out of your clothes.

Boo! You need a nice holiday in a warm climate! Is that typical or are you experiencing an unusually cool summer? Usually that's the case where I live (Pacific NW) but we have had an absolutely wonderful warm summer...setting record highs:)

Skylurker, I am off to Greece (thank God!), but not for another 4 weeks and our forecast here is for more of the same. Oops, looks like I've broken that YLF rule

Carole, it's not unheard of for us to have iffy weather like this but it's the temperature drop too, which Is annoying. I don't think I would even be warm enough in one of my new tees with a cardigan indoors today.

We have had a topsy-turvy summer where we go from uncomfortably hot with more humidity than we are used to to unseasonably cold. That said, I've been very grateful for the rain--- our rivers are so full and things are green and it is wonderful!

Yes, Elly, the weather is a bit crazy in a lot of places. We actually had a really warm late April.
