Hello shoe twin.

I LOVE that second outfit on you (BR blouse).

I agree! The second outfit is gorgeous!

I love the BR outfit. Wow! The bag is great. I'm loving the idea of the belting the AT top. Have you considered a thinner belt? That ones seems a little workaday for such a delicate top.

April, as usual you look so polished but cute in all your outfits. For fall I could see a different colored cami or tank under the blouse in the third photo...maybe olive or a subdued metallic. Your first outfit (the red bag is gorgeous!) has inspired me to try my casual LBD in a new way with a sleeveless buttondown. Thank you for posting your photos.

April, great outfits! I love them all, but particularly the first one with the dress.

Joy -- I love the idea of a different colored cami beneath the BR top -- I only have cream, black, and chocolate brown in non-knit camis, and of the three, the cream seemed best but it does look a little glaring, doesn't it. I would *love* to have a tank like that in olive -- has anyone seen such a thing in a wove tank or shell with a little stretch?

The sleeveless top in the red bag photo was a hand-me-down from a coworker. The day I wore that outfit, it seemed my entire building was in black and white. I am getting visually tired of that pairing this season -- made me wish I could carry the red bag with me all day.

Alecia, I had the same thought about that traditional belt. Because I didn't have a more delicate one on hand, I decided to go ahead with it since the full trousers and blousy top were too much volume without any belt at all. Guess I'd better start looking for a more polished version...

Very nice. You are very elegant.

Great outfits - my favorite is number three. I am a huge sucker for paisley so I am really loving that BR top.

I love the color of the bag!! The ruffle on the front of both shirts look great on you!

all three outfits are great but i LOVE your shoes in the last photo!

erm....i meant in the first photo =)

WOW! Hello gorgeous sister! I have been wondering about that red bag. So happy to see it's finally seeing some light. :) I love all the looks, but especially the BR top. Simply beautiful.

Sorry I've been scarce... the semester has gobbled up every inch of free time. :( I'll try to post some photos of what I've been experimenting with at some point. But a description will have to suffice for now... On Monday, I took the plunge and wore 2 different prints (a light pin stripe cropped blazer with a polka dot top underneath). Definitely something I never would have considered pre-YLF!

April, have you checked out the belts at JCrew? They have some great stuff that would be perfect for the look you're going for and I think their prices are reasonable. I think it's worth getting quality in belts.

Thanks for the tip, Alecia. I did check J Crew and loved their simple, 1/2-inch wide black belt, but ultimately passed because the buckle is gold and I very rarely wear gold. I got this one from BR instead: http://bananarepublic.gap.com/.....=670997002

It's narrower and more polished than the one I'm wearing in the photo. Haven't received it yet so we'll see...

Mae -- TWO prints. Go, you! :) (Do I know the pin-striped cropped blazer?)

You look wonderful in all three outfits April. That red patent bag is making me even more sad my red bag is on its last legs;-)
I'm loving the Fly London pumps on you!-) And the BR blouse is gorgeous!!
(I love the suggestion of olive, I'm also thinking a berry red, is that a colour you would wear?). I'll see if I can find something in a minute.

Oh Mae, your patterned outfit sounds yummy. Love polka dots, LOVE stripes;-) I hope you can post pictures soon?

I still haven't completely figured out the difference between woven and knits-(
Are jersey, nylon and modal "wovens"? I hope so, otherwise please ignore my links...

Olive

(the wineberry and deep cobalt would look fab with your blouse too)

Berry red

(the raven is also great, valley green is their olive option)

Or how about purple?-)

I could see the rosebud, blade green, Paris purple, real teal and sea blue all working for you.

Inge, you are the best! I love having all these choices in camis now -- remember when the options were white or black?

I even see one of the links you sent shows a charcoal heather cami, something I have been searching for a long time. Thank you!

I'm not that picky about woven vs. knit, but will try to explain the distinction anyway. A woven fabric is like the fabric of a shirt or of jeans. It may have stretch added to it, but if you look closely you can see where the fibers were woven together on a loom. A knit fabric is like the fabric of a tee shirt or of leggings. It is slightly stretchy even if it doesn't have a stretchy fiber added to it, and if it has spandex or something added, it's very stretchy.

Does that make sense? I would try to explain further, but am off to shop for camis... :)

Thank you for explaining April, that does make sense.

And yes, how boring was that, only black and white options. Go get that charcoal cami and tell us which other colours you snap up too!!-)

Inge, they were having a "buy two and save $5.50 on each" so I am trying three shades of the Caslon camis you pointed out at Nordstrom: Heather Charcoal, Parisian Purple, and Goblin. It's so hard to tell on a monitor, but Goblin appears to be a deep emerald with blue undertones.

Woo hoo -- thank you again!
