Thoughts on These Coats

I'm kind of obsessed with coats

I'm on the lookout for a Non-Black coat (all the jackets & coats I own are black). I don't want red, white or khaki so I'm having trouble. I'm thinking maybe a dark blue? green?

Here are two I'm considering:

1. Urban Outfitter Asymmetrical Coat in Grey or Purple
- Can anyone wear these colors (grey or purple)? If not, what should I keep in mind?
- Has anyone tried this on?

2. Victoria's Secret Foldover Collar Coat in Blue
- Do you need a long neck for this? Mine is average, definitely not long.
- I have small shoulders, would this be a problem?

Love both coats! Gorgeous.. I'll leave the question of the collar to Angie..

As to the colors I love Blue and purple, amazing color for brunettes! As to the grey, it's lovely and it goes with everything.. and you can always add some color close to the face with a nice scarf!

Love the Urban Outfitters coat--great zipper detail! The purple is a lovely color, but I'm wondering whether the gray might be easier to wear (and you could have a lot of fun with purple accessories, which are dynamite against a light gray).

Also love the Victoria's Secret coat and don't think that it demands a swan-like neck. Interesting neckline that brigs attention to the shoulders and the face!

I love both coats but I'm particularly attracted to the blue VS coat. The neckline is so pretty!

However the grey and purple coats have that wonderful zipper detail.

It’s perfect that you’re obsessed with coats, Tortoise! We have the right climate for it :0)

o Not anyone can wear any grey or purple. The shade has to be right and it also depends what you wear it with.

o That type of collar looks best on a long neck, but it’s a little scooped at the base which might make it work just fine.

o I have not seen either of the coats, but the styles wonderful! I have seen VS coats in the past and I’m not impressed with their quality at that price, but it’s a personal thing. I am very sticky about quality and what you pay for it. I think H&M does a much better $69 coat. FABULOUS coats in fact! I’m very happy to pay hundreds of dollars for superb quality, but then it has to pass my quality control.

I love that UO coat, the zipper detail is so cool.

I agree with Angie on the quality of VS coats, it is far from good for the price.

Thanks everyone. I live a few blocks from an UO so I plan to pop-in periodically to see if they have the coat.

I think I secretly don't want to find a coat because I just love hunting for them!
