This is (almost) the leather jacket I want!

I ordered this leather jacket from Nordstrom after the Vince jacket didn't work out. I absolutely love the shape and style of this jacket. I was hoping it would look a little more pink, but the color, Geranium, is a warm orange/coral. The jacket looked great but the color made my skin look unhealthy and sallow.

I prefer this style leather jacket, over a leather moto. Am I nuts? Is this totally unfashionable? If I could find a similar jacket in a cool toned mid blue, red, maybe even green, and it fit as well as this one fit me, I would be thrilled. Extra bonus if it costs less than $700! Can one be found? This is a new challenge for me in 2015. The hunt begins!

So sorry I didn't get any photographs, but the fit was pretty much what it looks like on the model The big difference, I am not a model!

Staysfit, you might not want to wait this long, but Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is a good place to look; there have been a lot of leather jackets featured during that sale for the last few years. I got one the year before last that is not a moto style and not black; it's "my" shade of green-tinted gray, and I really like it.

This jacket is so close fitting. Assuming you found the right color, how would it work unzipped?

I'm tempted by the warm gray, myself. I wear a lot of the same colors you like. I find that I can never wear anything peachy or orange.

I still think you should try the petrol all saints jackets that Firecracker suggested. Might be a little less work friendly, though. Their shipping is fast (overnight if you're an Amazon prime member) and returns are easy.

Wait for Danier's spring styles. Very reasonable, and they always have fun and interesting colours in the spring. In winter not so much -- you will see black, grey, ink, black, brown, cognac, burgundy, winter white, the odd cobalt, etc. (All lovely but not what you want.) But in spring, it's a veritable leather garden, and many styles.

Excellent idea Suz! We are planning a spring trip to the Shaw festival. I've never considered Niagara a shopping destination but I see that there are two nearby. We also pass through St. Catherine's on a regular basis going back and forth to visit my DD in college, and my family.

I also don't do moto style very well though I love the look on others. They don't work as we with pants for me, and that is more my leather jacket outfit than with dresses. I think " scuba" types work better because some have a bit of shaping and may run a big longer. Hopefully those also have some longevity! I would look for an easy- tailored fit, not tight, not oversized.

I think this is a scuba jacket, and is a classic tailored style.

Danier's in Canada seems to be "the place" to find good, reasonably priced leather.

I believe I have a Cole Hahn leather scuba jacket somewhere? Maybe it's hibernating in my DD's closet. I should dig it out and see if it works with my new color palette. I doubt it! It may have been banished for a broken zipper or some other simple repair reason - I will find it and figure it out!

I find most leather moto jacket styles feel very heavy to wear - so I am with you, I prefer a lighter more streamlined style of leather jacket. When buying jackets, whilst I do like them to look good done up, I usually wear them unzipped and so how it looks open is most important to me. So sad to hear that the colour did not work for you.
