thinking that navy blazer is a return

Here is my post re the stuff that arrived from Boden two days ago:

I will be keeping the purple coat (considering sizing up, but not sure).

I am not feeling it with the blazer, which I originally was happy with. I wouldn't mind springing for tailoring if it was otherwise amazing, but I'm thinking more and more that there's something about the fabric I find cheap. It comes across like felt, in a way. (Heh, you probably think I'm nuts when it comes to fabric at this point...) It's hanging in my closet right now, with the original creases it had when I unboxed it. I mean random creases, not from where it had been folded for packing. It just seems like not the best material. It's a wool and some synthetic mix. I stopped at J. Crew today and the quality of the fabric was completely different. I would rather pay more and get my investment blazer, and I will try my utmost to have it start out as a Petite! Sleeves with details do not look like an easy fix.

Good for you for having that eye for detail, Mochi! You have the jacket up close and know better than we do. It's a shame it doesn't cut the mustard, but better to know that before you cut the tags!

That really stinks. That was still a significant amount of money to spend on something of inferior quality. I read the reviews, and lots of people complained about the bulky arms, too.

Yep. I was initially disappointed on the velvet/velveteen front, but in this case, it's actually going to have an impact in that it will wrinkle and is not resilient.

It's probably a wise decision to send it back. The fabric issues will bug you every time you wear it and you won't enjoy your purchase.

Yep, if you're not feeling it, let it go. We are too fab to spend our hard earned money on something we aren't loving. FWIW you've made a good decision here!
