I vote ney. They look too casual to wear with tights and frocks because of that rubber sole.

But I have fussy feet too and I hear you on that one. You seem to do pretty well with heels though :0)

I have these tall boots, will they work with sweater/knit dresses and tights? Would you wear black hose to match the boots if they have texture?

Carole- I think I would wear the tall boots with sweater dresses before either of the ankle shoes you posted. I could be wrong, but it just seems to me that after 40ish the ankle boots with sweater dress might look a tad young, the tall boots seem a bit more classy.
I think black hose, textured or not would look great with those.
