I just ordered these knit skinny pants. Now I need a pair of kick a** boots to wear with them, within the realm of a Grandma anyway.
The Frye boots are looking pretty good this year. It looks like they've gone back to their roots in a Western way. I don't think I want typical cowboy boots, but I do like the quality of the leather that Frye uses.
I am kind of excited about this new look for me, it will be a stretch of the imagination. I would never have reached out of my comfort zone before YLF.
Any ideas on how to wear these pants? Do you treat them as leggings and not pants?

So many tunics are made for juniors, but here is one for a granny.

So is the idea to get the chestnut colored boots and tuck the pants in, then put a tunic over it? I'm pretty much loving that idea too. You'd get the blouse in cream, then?

I think it *might* be time to re-evaluate the idea that knit pants are only for gear and sleeping. If you didn't tell me those were knit pants, I wouldn't know just by looking at them. But, maybe it is more obvious in real life. I think you'll have to see how they look in person and on your body before you (and we) can really evaluate how to wear them.

As for the boots, um, well, I really like both of them, but I'm wondering if they will fit you? Your calves seem quite slim.

The tunic is very pretty and romantic. I think it will look great.

The tunic comes in 2 beautiful but very dark colors, a midnight blue, and a dark purple. I really love both colors. I have not ordered that yet.
I have not worn cream forever. I have to re evaluate what colors I can wear in large quantities like that next to my face and hair, now that my hair is dark and I have darker glasses.
I don't know if the tunic is long enough for coverage with knit pants. It would be pretty with jeans though.
Yes Laura my thought was to tuck the knt pants into boots, then put a tunic over top. I would have to be very careful to not look like a pirate! Maybe a much longer tunic/dress is called for?

San, the comfy slouchy boots that Angie posted came to mind and have a tough, casual look to them. I can see you in that beautiful tunic, but you will need to try the tunic with them to see if it looks long enough. I think Angie's comments about getting all the parts right in proportion for leggings applies here. They could look great as pants (not just leggings look) if they look good from the rear and skim, not hug...if that makes sense.

Yes Joy I see what you mean about the pants needing to skim rather than hug the body like leggings do. That is what would make the rules for tops with them like tops for pants. Good point! I also think the knit fabric is going to be much more thick in these pants than leggings.

These are like VERY, VERY thick leggings. Sandy, I’ll have a look at them in stores and get back to you. Reserving my opinion on how to wear them until I’ve had tactile contact!

Chiming in on the boots - the Born are so fabulous and less "western" than the Frye. I love a Frye boot but the others look more versatile and the color is so super rich. That tunic could be killer - will be curious how this comes out

Seems like you could style those pants in many different ways. But hard to tell without seeing how they fit on you! My initial reaction was heeled black booties for a more upscale look, or slouchy ankle boots for more casual.

I agree! I was thinking that booties would be the perfect shoes for these pants. It seems like that would be an even better solution than tucking them in.

Do the pants come with a jacket? Because if you could buy it as a suit, imagine how you could mix and match, dress it up or down ...

I liked the pants! I saw them today. Wish they didn't have side pockets though. That way more people could wear them. Did you order them, Sandy?

I like the idea of a slouchy boot with this style. (I’m a bit slouchy boot obsessed at the moment). I like the idea of booties if you have black hair.

My Mum has a pair of Marc Cain pants a bit like that- thick knit and cut slim like leggings, though hers have more zips and cargo-ish details. She looks fantastic in them.

I like both the boots you linked to San, and the tunic! Sorry not much help I prefer non-slouchy boots as a rule but can see slouchy looking good here, as Angie says.

Yes I did order the pants when I started this thread so they should be here soon.

I also ordered the tunic in both colors so I can determine which I like best.

I think the Born boots are beautiful but I am having reservations about them being a bit too loud for me.
