The wrap: keep or purge?

More Spring sorting through my dresses. I think dresses were the only item I didn't sort through when I did my closet clean out. I have some old wrap dresses that I still wear, and some that I don't wear very often. Here are three wraps, all animal print, that I'm unsure of. I can add a ballet sweater to these (I have them in pink and ivory) which IMO makes them look better, but I'm not sure these are worth keeping anyway. What do you think. Are these in keeping with what you have seen of my style?

(By the way, the look on my face has more to do with the pain I am in due to oral surgery, than how I feel about the dresses! :-))

I have a love / hate relationship with wrap dresses. On one hand they are a classic and timeless design but on the other hand I think I am just bored with them. I got rid of mine a while back. Have you considered wearing #1 and #2 over a very slim or skinny leg pant/jeans? Could give them new life?

You look fabulous in #3. WOW, Keep.

#1 I can take or leave - although wearing it over skinnies is a good idea. May I suggest passing on #2 though, because the neckline isn't as flattering.

Great idea to wear over skinny's! I love that idea. I agree Angie, the neckline in #2 is a bit deep for me. If I do wear it, I put a cami underneath, but that gets uncomfortable because it slides up! I think my new pink DVF wrap will look good over #3.

I prefer #3 for two reasons: it has a clean neckline without a collar and it is a bit longer and I am into knee length or longer now.

My vote is to keep 3 and purge the other 2 unless wearing 1 over skinnys

Agreed with the skinnies. #3 is the best of the batch but I still prefer you in some colors with more depth. And higher contrast.

I agree that 3 is very flattering on you. I love the pleats at the shoulderline, the slight cap sleeve, and the high wrap that looks like a perfect fit. The fluid skirt is very pretty on you, too. It's so lovely on its own, I hope you get to wear it without a topper sometimes; I know it can be hard to find just the right conditions (temperature) for that, or it certainly can be for me. I also quite like #1 on you.

I agree with AM about number #3. Paired with a higher contrast jacket (such as a bright white) and footwear I think it could be great. I really like the cut and pattern.

I like #3, but the expression on your face in the pic... maybe not? I vote pass on the other two wrap dresses. I am with Deborah on the love/hate. I have one DVF wrap dress left that I'm keeping for no reason other than it's a DVF wrap dress. If I'm going to do this, I should probably bury it in the closet with the rest of my *suburban capsule.*

I try wrap dresses but I always feel too classic "ladies who lunch/Princess Kate" in them. I think pairing them with skinnies sounds smashing and will look great on you!!

Okay, I like the lines and cut of 3....but my fave color on you is 2. (Agree the neckline is too deep and doesn't fkatter you like 3.) I like you in the richer color. Makes your skin and hair and eyes sparkle and pop!

3 is a lovely shape on you, and looks like it could be good for work, afternoon wedding, summer funeral perhaps, church, retirement luncheon, shower, etc. Maybe the color is a bit pale for your newer choices? Perhaps a brighter jacket over it? or a colorful bead necklace, bag and/or shoes? Sorry about my take on the wrap dresses but to me they reflect what always makes me pass on that style for myself - too low cut at the neckline and too short, besides being rather body con. All three at once=no go here.

All that being said, which one(s) do you like? Which one(s) make you feel like you look good, confident and ready for the occasion?

The white with blue flowers sheath dress in your new spring group is so much more flattering and current, IMO.

I think #1 is the best top/collar detail and the best amount of color contrast. For my "eye" it is too short for my sense of proportions for dresses, but I will leave that up to you. The length in 3 is better but the dress is more meh.

I like #3, I think if you pair it with some color it could be really fab! I'm not a big fan of the other two.

Would you reach for any of these and wear them, feeling fab? Or would you rather make room for new dresses? Sometimes I keep something that should be worn but I just don't love it, so it becomes an orphan. It may also depend on how much you wear dresses. If you wear one several times a week you can handle more in your closet.

I think that you have clothes in your wardrobe that are much more flattering than these 3 dresses (both in style and in color.) The only one that I would consider keeping is #3 - because the cut is better on you than the other two - but I'm not crazy about the color on you and I know you've got much more flattering clothes than these ! I'd give these dresses a pass.

I would skip the first 2-wrap(and that kind of animal in a strap pattern) dresses are a bit out for me, esp those with collar, but I like nr 3!

My personal opinion is that wrap dresses are not the best look for rectangles (which is my secondary body type) When I think how fab you looked in this dress, there in no comparison!
(that made me want to go out and get a dress with that colouring :-))

My opinion is that wrap dresses are too classic to not have at least one. But if they aren't your thing, well then that's your thing Of the 3 you show, I like 1 and 2 best, the color and pattern on 3 doesn't seem to fit with your coloring.
