The wedges that weren't meant to be. High volume foot issue?

I loved them from the minute I saw them. And I waited for weeks. Then I pulled the trigger because I just couldn't show any more restraint. Today they arrived and they don't work. The top of my foot is high (does this mean high volume?) and so my foot won't slide down into these. My wallet is happy but I sigh with disappointment. Another love will come my way...

Sigh.. I would most likely have the same issue with them - I guess it means high volume. At least the wallet is happy.

I love them too , and also have yet to wrap my head around this high vs low volume foot concept. I take it there is no zipper or snap situation? Man, those are cool sandals.

lisap: They are velcro. And that wasn't the issue. It was almost like the ankle strap prevented my foot from going into the shoe. Now I'm debating if I should size up. I did have to size up considerably on these.

Sizing looks pretty limited on the Nordstrom link. I'm in the "wasn't meant to be" camp. When you find the perfect fit, you'll be glad you waited, Cinderella.

Carter: I actually had to order them from Neiman Marcus because Nordstrom was selling out. But I think you are right...just not meant to be. Ugh. Cinderella indeed.

I have this problem with so many shoes. My sympathies. They might stretch out, since they're nice leather, but I wouldn't bet their cost on it.

Yes I think that means high volume - I think your feet could still be thin/narrow and be high volume if they were deep (ha ha that sounds ridiculous!)

I have relatively narrow feet and I always thought bony. Recently my cousin tried on some shoes of mine that she was going to borrow because she had arrived to stay for a wedding without her shoes! We were both the same size but her feet just fell out of my mary jane heels. I decided that must be volume related.

May I suggest a pair of Trippen shoes instead? Frequently bonkers, often sensational, always beautifully made. I have a couple of pairs. They fit wide.

Website says they'll ship internationally, but it'll cost you.

AM, as someone who isn't picky and puts her feet through undue pain, I'll still cry with you! Because when you love the shoe and it doesn't fit, it hurts just as much as pinched toes and blistered heels.

I would think that high volume would be a reference to how substantial the foot is, not the width necessarily, but the thickness.
It could be that you have relatively high volume feet, but I'm not sure that's the same as high arch and I could see either, or both of these getting in the way of fitting this type of shoe.

I have high arches and wide feet so yes, that makes them high volume. I think the issue you bring up is a high arch/instep. I have red marks on the tops of my feet from the slip-on sneakers I've been wearing. I just suffer. Most of my shoes feel tight in the instep. When I was growing up I really wanted to wear loafers but the only shoes that fit me were oxfords or Mary Janes. I still must have some sort of trauma around this issue because it's really hard to get me to wear either style.
