About your wardrobe and personal style

the picture perfect challenge: last day!

here is the photo for the fifth and final day of the picture perfect challenge:

for michelle:
this picture is called "out of the blue" and looks to have been taken at night at a fair or carnival. most of the frame is taken up by a ride that is spinning so quickly that it's just a blur of bright neon streaks -- reds, oranges, yellows and blues. off to the right the young male attendant watches with his hands on his hips, making sure everything is going okay.

i'm sort of sad this is coming to an end... expect a recap at the end of tomorrow!

Well hanna, I don't have the time to participate today as I'm in the office then off to pick up my parents at the train station. I would like to thank you for such an imaginative challenge which made me view my wardrobe from a different perspective.

I have been amazed by the creativity on show from the ladies on the forum and I will search out this thread on Monday to post comments.

I hope you all have a fantastic weekend.

Ok, This is a huge challenge for me-as close as I could get to neon- I wore my lime green reading glasses in tribute to the theme:

I won't have time for a blog post today, but here is my contribution for the challenge. I went with metallic silvers and a bright color -- the metallic is a BIG change for me! I've had that belt forever and never had the nerve to wear it until today. Which seems silly since it's just a little belt, but still. The nuns will be scandalized! :)

I'm so sick of this top so I belted it

Does the belt work with this?

I like the belt! And I love your headbands, I wish I could wear them as well as you do!

Finally, I have a chance to participate! I've been checking out all of your outfits over the week, and love the variety of interpretations. I like how for this one some people have picked out the color and some the motion as a focal point for their outfits.

Here's mine of the last day:

(Sorry for crappy iPhone pic; the colors are much more vibrant IRL)

I'l come back to comment on everyone's pictures later.

This morning I started out with this. I wasn't too sure if the scarf made it look like too much going so I tried wearing it as a belt. Wasn't too sure about that either so I ended up leaving home like this. Now looking at the first picture, I like the long line it creates. I might try that the next time I wear this outfit. It was funny how a few people thought I was wearing a waistcoat over a dress.

If the scarf does look good with this, could you suggest other ways to wear it? I love the color combination.

Sorry ladies, awful, rainy day. I didn't even leave the house so no contribution from me today. I may give it a try if I leave the house in the evening.
In the meantime, Vani, this is a look that I am really digging especially if you want to wear the scarf and the belt together:

Everyone looks so intensely colored and fabulous!!! Thanks Hanna for another great challenge and thank you to all who participated!!

Jean, I remember when you bought that top; love how you incorporated in this outfit and challenge!

Sarah, I think I have tried on the dress of that pattern a hundred times and never had the nerve to but it. I LOVE it on you!

Rena, what a great swirly pattern! Perfect. Hope everything is okay, healthwise!

Shannon, another great top showing off the motion. Love it belted and loose.

Cathy, love those colors together! that cascading sweater is cute; I love the little tiers at the bottom.

Vani, I can see why you liked the orange-strawberry and the blue together; it's so striking! Bella's suggestion of the belt and scarf together might be just the style you are looking for.

This was a great challenge! Good job, everyone who participated! Hanna, another successful challenge for YLF!

Well, well, well. Challenge #4 takes the cake:

Jean – KILLER. That outfit can go straight into my wardrobe.

Kristen – KILLER. Love your rosy cheeks!

Sarah – KILLER. So poised and modern.

Rena – KILLER. Casual and fabulous – even with the heart rate monitor! I have a client who has to carry a diabetic pump and she looks so hip and trendy all the time. There are always ways and means.

Shannon – KILLER (prefer the top unbelted)

Cathy- KILLER. That’s the cascade cardi we got together! Love the necklace.

Vani – KILLER. Trust your instincts – they are always good!

A KILLER rating for all participants. That is a first. You know I don’t give out killer ratings easily :0)
