This H & M shirt! Is sold out in my size! But is exactly what I have been searching for in a button down style. Sigh. Anyone seen something similar?

This is a new style to me. Very interesting design, though I think it would suit taller women most. I hope you can track one down....

I agree with everyone here

It's beautiful!
It's ruffly.
It has a stiff collar.
The length needs to be perfect on a petite frame.

But ... I also think this could work well with your IT shape. The ruffles at the bottom would play well with your shoulders. It's an interesting shirt

I don't think of it as "ruffly" -- it's interesting! I can definitely see you wearing this, and I think it could suit your IT shape really well. I would be curious about the fabric -- anything that wrinkles a lot when you sit will ruin that effect. I hate it when a garment with lovely hanging lines gets bad horizontal wrinkles from sitting and bending.

HAH. I'm also surprised. This shirt looks pretty and ruffle-y, which you've mentioned many times before is not your look. Very interesting. I always say give it a go. You have nothing to lose, Una. Hope you find it and are able to try it. Fun process.

That doesn't read "ruffle-y" to my eye. I think it could be great on you. To preserve the back side of it you will, however, have to remain standing all day.

Really cool - I see it as more of a peplum than a ruffle. And I love all shades of blue.

That is an awesome shirt. I don't think it's too frilly. The ruffles are stiff, dramatic, and architectural, which is a far cry from the fuchsia cardigan of doom, for example.

Btw, a peplum is essentially a ruffle. It can be subtle or frilly.

By the way, this reminds me of this Allsaints Victorian shirt (from back when they were still doing the awesome crazy steampunk thing). The H&M one is probably a lot more wearable though because it doesn't have the crazy sleeves!

Funny, I don't see this shirt as ruffled but more of "steampunk schoolboy". It reminds me of the Anne Fontaine shirts with the strict asymmetry and really appeals to the side of me that likes the androgynous looks. I could see it with a pencil skirt and my oil-slick oxfords. Have never seen anything like it at this price point.

Still, it really appeals to you. And that is what matters.

Perhaps you can try it in a size up and see if you need to size down. H&M sizing can be all over the board. Once you are pretty sure of your size, there is always eBay. Or, they may restock.

My reaction was that it is kind of Victorian looking, and I can see you in it, Una--though I would not have chosen light blue for you. A pinstripe, maybe.
