The Betabrand tuxedo yoga pants arrived...

I am keeping them but question why a petite length is 31"? Washing and hemming in order... These are a nice fit and will replace some ponte NYDJ pants that I got rid of a while back due to warping after washing. Will post pics when all done.

I was just looking at a petite top on the Norstrom site. The information said that the model is 5'9"! She was wearing a Petite Small. In what world is 5'9" considered petite!?

Joy, often I note that product descriptions will state 19 inch skirt, or 39 inch back seam length, but the skirt is mid-thigh on the model. So I wonder if they put models into petites so the skirts are even shorter? I'm 5-7 and 19 inch skirt is too short for me at my age.

31"? Ugh. I've seen a number of jeans with 31-32" as a short or petite inseam and was hoping that was just a boot cut or flare thing. Still, I remember when petite in the 90s meant petite!

These have a higher rise which I don't mind as I won't be tucking into ponte. I don't get the length issue at all!

Ok, I've wondered about these too! And if 31" is petite, their regular length would be long enough for me. But I have little hope they would fit me if they fit you, since we are built so differently. Looking forward to seeing them on you!

Wow, "long length" pants are usually 32" so that is a bit long for petites!

The length will shrink up a bit after the first wash. Maybe not enough, but I think mine lost a few inches.

I don't know, Janet. I am pretty sloppy about fit on the bottom half, whereas I think you are pretty picky. So I'm not sure that how they fit me will be any measure of how well they fit you. They are like a really sturdy pair of straight cut yoga pants so that may help you decide. I will post pics when they are dry!

Ha! You're right about the fit pickiness. Funny because I am much more loose about fit in tops (many things seem to fit me on first glance but could use some tailoring if I'm really being picky and honest about them), and I know you have more challenges fitting tops than I do.

Thanks for the info. It's been too hot here to think much about fall/winter clothing, and I haven't even tried on my NAS purchases to fully evaluate yet, but one day soon I will pull out all my jeans and pants and do some evaluating and closet editing. I know I could use some new black pants that are NOT jeans but I don't want anything too dressy or fussy. Something I can wear to a meeting or a funeral but still wear in place of jeans. Something like this could be good if the fit is right.
