Take a fashion risk challenge - maternity - : Patience

The original challenge:

I apologize for it taking so long to post pics to answer my own challenge. I've been having computer problems. So here goes. I know I took a risk; now you tell me whether I pulled it off. ;)

When I first saw this, I never in a million years thought I would try it. It just seemed stylistically wrong. But apparently it's been sitting in my head until one day... I felt determined to wear a non maternity blouse, but it didn't look right on it's own and was too short to belt over the belly-- so I tucked:

Bumping. Either this one got overlooked amid my multiple outfits posts or you all think I'm crazy. ;)

Patience, I think you can pull this look off but it's a look I'm not used to seeing. Kudos for taking the fashion risk. How did you feel wearing this all day?

Was the shift comfortable tucked in? To be honest, I'm not sure that I like the look as much as some of the other things that I've seen you in. I feel like there's something about the sides of the shirt that aren't tapered enough. I'm not sure. It might just be that my eye needs to get used to the look, too.

Hmm I like the idea. I think it works but I am also a little distracted by the blouse poofing on the sides. I wonder if adding something belt-like (scarf? sash?) would make it look more intentional. Did the blouse stay tucked in throughout the day?

Yay! Patience and her belly have made an appearance! Wooohooo!

I appreciate your fearless gusto my dear, Patience. I don’t think the tucked in shirt looks bad because you could never look bad in anything! But this look is not as flattering as when you’d define your belly with one solid colour or pattern. The visual contrasting colours cut straight across the widest part of your hot little preggy bod. Does that make sense? How did you feel in this outfit?

Thank you, everyone, for all of your responses. I'm sorry it's taken me so long to get back to this one.

To answer the questions:
How did I feel about it? I do agree that it's not the ideal look, *but* there's a high that comes with taking a fashion risk and feeling like you pulled it off as well as it could be. You know? That's actually the spirit of this challenge-- to take the risk and have the confidence both. ;) The other part of it is that I don't think I could feel bad wearing that black pencil skirt-- it's awesome! (My second favorite maternity piece)

Was it comfortable/ did it stay tucked? It was comfortable. I did have to adjust the tucking a few times. The funny thing is that the part I was most concerned about-- the front where I literally had 1/2" of shirt to tuck-- stayed put. It was the back and back sides that poofed out as you noticed although I think in the picture it looked more pronounced simply because my arms were raised.

I doubt I'll do this look again, simply because I don't think I'll have enough shirt for tucking any more ;) but it was very fun. I hope to see others take up the challenge to take a risk.

Can I ask - where did you get your pencil skirt? It looks so lovely on you.
