Sweaters that I ordered...thoughts?

Ok, I don't usually do posts on whether or not new items suit me or if I should keep so I hope I'm not going to regret this....

Of the three sweaters I mentioned on this post :http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....rapyprints I took a stack of photos just of the two Biba ones to see how many items they went with and to see if they suited me.

So, on to the pics.

#1 through #5 are possible outfits....

#6 is to show some checked jersey fabric that I have, that I am planning on making a midi tube skirt with and is a possible pairing too.

#7 through #10 are outfits with the other sweater...

#11 to #13 are more fabrics...the tube skirt, pinstripe for culotte pants and a tweed for a skirt(not sure the colour of the tweed goes though)

So, thoughts ladies? Do the outfits work? colours suit? Do you think both, either or neither are worth keeping?

I think I'm the wrong person to ask because I've pretty much lost my taste for most of pattern mixing, but I like #9 and #12. I think #13 works too. I prefer the first sweater with the solid colored bottoms.

I like them! I am struggling with this length and style of sweater, which seems to cut me in half, so I prefer the tucked versions if you are comfortable in them.

I like the first sweater better than the second one, but they're both nice. I also like the pattern mixing of the first sweater with the plaid skirt. Really nice and I don't usually like too much pattern mixing. I love the outfit with the culottes (#10) and I'm jealous that your grey pants and boots match so well. I always have problems matching greys. Oh, and I really like the combo of sweater #2 and the pinstriped fabric (12).

My top 3 are 3,4,9. I love the way you are mixing patterns and the colors are harmonious. The sweaters are pretty!

My favorites are 7 and 10. I'd probably wear the top in 1-6 with black pants, but I haven't gone to maximal yet.

Thanks ladies! It's fun to hear of all your preferences and which outfits you feel work. I need to consider if the combos which work the best here are going to be enough to warrant me keeping both sweaters. The cream/red roses one in the original post is being kept BTW.

I'll wait to hear some more thoughts from you lovely lot.

I like both sweaters. The first one seems to suit your coloring and I really like the neckline on you. IBut the other sweater seems better for pattern mixing (which it seems you want to do). Sorry I can't be of more help.

I really like 1/2 for the first sweater and 9 and 10 for the second. Somehow I think the first one does better with a wider variety of patterns/colors on the bottom, possibly because it has a more limited color palette itself? Both of the sweaters suit you though in terms of color.

I LOVE both jumpers, and think they're Killer on you. Very "Diane". Flattering shape, pattern and colours - and just the outfit oomph you need on a grey day.

ALL the combinations work to my eye. Here are my faves:

#1, 4, 5, 6, 7, 10 and 12.

I really like the sweater tucked into culottes.

I think they both look amazing on you, Di. I like most of these outfits.
Plus, while these may be some of the more 'complicated' outfits you've created, I also imagine the sweaters adding an element of interest to simple jeans-and-sweater outfits. Be it basic blue jeans or cream ones, these sweaters will be perfect!

I love the fun prints of both sweaters but have a slightbpreference for the first because of the colors on you. My favorite outfits are 1, 4, 9&10.

I like both... and, ahem, think when you pair either with plaid, you should also add fur to max out the maximal.

I like both sweaters and I like how you have paired them. If I had to pick one I would go with the first one. The colours seem to be a bit more flattering. They are so perfect for the maximal trend.

Thanks Manny! That's exactly my thinking, which is why I didn't post pics with jeans because I think most of my jeans would make good outfits with the sweaters, definitely!

Well as I read through all the replies and heard of your favourites, I'm getting a good feel of what will work.

I do actually have a small preference for the first sweater myself. The colours in the second sweater aren't quite as punchy, but I love it with my blue culottes and burgundy boots and I also like it with my light grey jeans.

I find the sleeves a bit loose down my arms on the lighter coloured sweater so I could tailor those down a bit.

At the moment I'm thinking I will probably keep both sweaters

Thanks Inge. I'm so glad you approve of my purchases and I'm glad I posted the sweaters on this thread. Now I feel keen to sew those fabrics up. Tube skirt and culottes first I think.

Thanks Quietgirl! I made both the rust and the blue culottes. The blue ones are actually some wide legged, full length pants that I shortened and the pattern is actually made from my personal pants block that I made when I did a pattern cutting diploma 8 years ago. The rust culottes are from McCalls 7445 and although I've made up the style without a waistband and an exposed zipper there is the option for a front fly fastening and a waistband too.
