Swap items

I went through my closet yesterday and found a few things that just don't fit right. Maybe someone is interested?

(If you need a password: fabfactor)
(sorry about the wrinkles;-)

1. Mexx, pale blue button-down shirt.
http://i278.photobucket.com/al.....CF3660.jpg
New, bought it last year on sale and realised too late that this colour is not the most flattering for my pale skin. It's a classic button-down but with elbow-length sleeves and one of those (flattering) collars that doesn't button up all the way to the neck. European size 40, on the label it says US size 10. I've measured a few things:
- shoulder width (in the back from seam to seam): 16 inches
- length (in the back from bottom of collar to bottom hem): 24.80 inches
- bust (in the front, from seam to seam just beneath armpits): 20 inches
- arm length (top of shoulder seam all the way down): 13.38 inches

2. Mexx, striped pull- on fitted shirt. European size 38, US size 8??
http://i278.photobucket.com/al.....CF3664.jpg
Detail of knot:
http://i278.photobucket.com/al.....CF3666.jpg
Deep V-neck, knotted. Colours: white, two shades of a limey green, turquoise and a mid-jeansy blue. Curved hem at the bottom, quite flattering. Zip on the left side, that zips open to about 2 inches underneath the armpit.
- shoulder width: 16 inches
- length: 22.50 inches
- bust: 18 inches
- arm length: 24.80 inches

3. Boden dark wash A-length denim skirt. UK size 12L. (according to Boden this is a large US size 6/US size 8)
http://i278.photobucket.com/al.....CF3673.jpg
Detail:
http://i278.photobucket.com/al.....CF3674.jpg
It has white stitching and brown buttons. It just doesn't work in my wardrobe. Worn once.
length: 23.60 inches

4. Mexx grey straight-legged dressy trousers with removable belt. European size 40, US size 10.
http://i278.photobucket.com/al.....CF3670.jpg
Detail:
http://i278.photobucket.com/al.....CF3671.jpg
Thin pinstripe. A little darker than in the pictures. Looks a lot more flattering on, not boxy at all (ever noticed how difficult it is to take a decent picture of trousers?-)
- inseam: 33 inches (too short for me, these are pre-YLF!-)
- front rise: 10.5 inches
- back rise: 13 inches
- leg opening bottom: 9.85 inches

5. Esprit bootcut jeans. European size 40, US size 10. medium blue, a little darker than in the pictures
http://i278.photobucket.com/al.....CF3675.jpg
Detail of back pockets
http://i278.photobucket.com/al.....CF3677.jpg
- inseam: 33 inches
- front rise: 10 inches
- back rise: 13 inches
- leg opening bottom: 10.43 inches

6. Esprit bootcut jeans. European size 40, US size 10. Medium blue, again slightly darker than in the pictures.
http://i278.photobucket.com/al.....CF3679.jpg
Detail of back pockets:
http://i278.photobucket.com/al.....CF3681.jpg
- inseam: 33 inches
- front rise: 10.5 inches
- back rise: 13 inches
- leg opening bottom: 10.43 inches

7. VS fleece hooded jacket. New, never worn. Medium (but it runs small in my opinion, it's quite fitted)
http://www2.victoriassecret.co.....rfnbr=5440
Colour: downpour (you can see it if you click on "more images" in the second picture).
Super soft finish, it doesn't feel like old skool fleece, it's very soft;-)
- shoulder width: 15 inches
- length: 29 inches
- bust: 17.7 inches
- arm length: 24.4 inches

All items are machine washable.

We could do a straight swap (I'm always interested in scarves, jewellery, sweaters, jackets...), or I can send you an item and you could help me order something in the US...

If you need any more info about a particular item, just let me know.

Inge, I love the Mexx blue-green top but I think it might be a tad too small for me; I usually take a M/10 in tops unless they run large like NY&Co where I can do with a small.

How do you think the Mexx pinstripe trousers would fit my pearish bottom and fuller thighs? I usually take a 10 in bottoms too.

I have a few tops, scarves and jewelry I could swap with you, or if nothing works out I could help you order something from here :-)

Hi Vani

I'm not sure about the Mexx striped shirt: I've included the measurements above. Perhaps you could compare them with a well-fitting shirt you own? The shirt does have quite a lot of stretch to it. My shoulders are 40" and I wear a 36C bra and it's definitely too small for me now. It's rather tight, I might still be able to wear it with another layer on top, but the seam doesn't sit below the bust anymore and I find that annoying. Maybe that helps?

Mexx pinstripe trousers: these are quite stretchy as well (2% elastane), and they are not tight-fitting on me. I've taken a few more measurements:
- Widt, in the back, 2 inches above crotch: 21.65 inches
- in the back, leg opening (at crotch, where you start to measure the inseam): 13 inches
- in the back, leg opening (about 4 inches lower than measurement above): 11.5 inches
I hope this helps?

Inge, Thanks so much for the measurements!! You are too sweet. I'm a 32 E so if the top is snug on you, I imagine it would be more so on me :-) I'm going to measure some of my dress pants to see if I can fit my dupa into the Mexx pants :-)

Smile;-)

Sorry to hear the Mexx striped top won't work for you.

Niva said "dupa"!! Bwahahahahaha!!

Inge, if those jeans were straight-leg UI would swap in a heartbeat! Alas.

Inge, I just checked the measurements on my recently altered-to-fit Club Monaco Microcheck pants and it looks like they're pretty close. It helps to know the Mexx pants have elastane :-D

I have a few things lined up for you which I hope to be able to take a picture in natural light for you tomorrow.

Kristen, dupa has become part of my everyday vocab. Sounds much better than a** or butt :-D

Oh that's great Vani. Glad to hear they might work for you!
And oh yes, elastane is our friend;-)

Yay, I finally got all the pictures in:
http://s273.photobucket.com/al.....wap/Sep09/

The Ann Taylor Wrap blouse is beautiful white and green striped blouse and the fabric is fab. But despite how much I liked it at the store, it never fit quite right since that day. I have worn this only once out of the house. All other times I just changed out if it just before leaving for work :) It is a generous US size 6 and fits me without being snug. I usually take an 8 in tops at Ann Taylor (vanity sizing much?!).
Shoulder width - 15 in
Length - 24 in
Sleeve length - 24 in
Armhole width - 18 in
Armpit to armpit - 19 in

All other items are jewelry. Let know if you like anything. If not, I will be more than glad to help you when you need to order something from the US :-)

Bumping for Inge!

Sorry for the late reply Vani. And thank you so much for posting all those pictures. The blouse is beautiful, but not really my style and you have some gorgeous jewellery too but (I know, I'm difficult!) I don't wear gold jewellery and only stud earrings (I always feel longer earrings look odd with my short hair, I DO so love them on other people though). How about I just send you the trousers and as soon (shouldn't be long, I already have some things in mind;-) as I'd like to order something, I'll let you know?

Thanks again for all the trouble!
I'll send you a pm now, then you have my email address etc.

Oh, I'm so sorry nothing worked out for you Inge :-( I should have asked you what kind of earrings or tops you prefer. I'm new at this swapping thing :-)

I'll be very happy to help you out with an order.
