You might be right Deborah - I have heard central heating is pretty standard in Canberra - maybe it is the same in Victoria. But it isn't that common here in the west. My current and previous homes were built in the 90's and don't have it. We do have gas heaters that we bought ourselves and have these on in the morning and evening.
In the morning the girls (and me too sometimes) get dressed in front of one of them. There are bar heaters in 2 of their rooms but DH doesn't think them safe. We have a little AC heater in our room that we use for half an hour or so before we get into bed (luxury - I have never had that before!)
Rambling Ann - Doesn't usuallly rain at our lowest winter temps - rainy days are typically a bit warmer.
Michelle I am sure you are voicing the experiences of many!! But I am a cold little soul and I will be wearing my coat and scarf!
