I voted yay! you seem to have a lovely grey color and coloring the hair is so annoying!

Voted yay, as I like it! It's almost like having white highlights intentionally, if there is such a thing:-).

Keep going! If you end up not liking it later, it's easily changed.

A definite yes, keep the grey!

Oh my gosh, I love you ladies... Did not expect such a resounding chorus of yes! I am going to ask my stylist to do so etching she has done before where she added a clear conditioning shine to keep it from looking dry, and to add a bit of texture when she trims it up. I'm actually excited to continue this transition - as Angie says, it's a project. Thank you for the support!

Wow, I am so impressed with the responses! I also didn't expect so many on the "keep going" side, although I'm not sure why, because I got nothing but support when I was doing this as well.

I vote keep going as well... you're past the hard part, so why not see if you like it. Going back to colour if you don't like it, is easy. Growing it out, isn't.

But I think it'll look great on you. Or rather, greyt

Elizabeth I need to find your post about it!

I'm not sure if I actually had a post about it specifically, but I had ongoing positive (unsolicited) comments over the year or so it took, in my OOTD posts.

I voted yay also!

I believe that I am going to join you on this one, I'm getting sick of having to show up at the salon every 4-5 weeks. Yes, more $$ to spend on clothes!

Are you doing any kind of color while you grow it out? My stylist recommended half highlights as a way to make the grey less noticeable.

Keep going, Alaskagirl! It looks wonderful on you, and can add so much to your personal style!
I grew out my grey (actually mine is white) last year. It's absolutely the best hair decision I've ever made.
My natural hair color is now about 70% dark brown with reddish lights, and 30% white.
It's 100,000% better than the highlights I was using to "cover" the grey.
It's so much more flattering to my skin, eyes, etc. to have my own natural coloring - complete with sparkly natural white highlights!
I find white clothing is much more striking on me now that it connects with my hair color.
I got impatient a few months into growing out my grey, so I went for a short pixie cut to get rid of the rest of my yellowy highlighted hair. If you get impatient with yours, you may want to go for a shorter cut to just get rid of all the salon-colored hair.
Can't wait to see when your hair is all highlighted with your gorgeous silver!

Jeweled, thank you for that testimonial! I will consult with my stylist about possible color options. It's already looking a lot like highlights, but there is a reddish tint where the blue has faded that I'd like to get out of there. And I will keep trimming from the bottom up...

I like the word "gravitas" too! Can a UWP have silver-grey hair? I think so.

I like it very much so far- a 'keep going' from me!

A total YAY from me as well !! You are halfway there... do it !

There is a woman in my barre class who dyes her hair all-over chestnut, and her full-on gray roots were showing the other day, and I was SO wanting to encourage her to just grow it in! She has a great haircut and her hair is luxurious and thick, and she has beautiful eyes. I know that when she decides to do it, it will look fabulous. Of course, I didn't say anything. But I really believe it will look amazing on her.

I have wimpy hair and the wimpiest of straggly grays. It will probably take me forever to go gray -- it's happening in there, with my highlights but at a rate of a few strands a year.

I love your hair, and I think your gray is looking pretty amazing. I completely agree with everyone to keep going and give it a try as long as you can. You may absolutely love it -- I expect you will be stunning with the full head. But then again, if you decide to dye it all again, I will be behind you too. It's all about choice.

BTW, I think an UWP SHOULD have all gray hair, in an edgy cut. Somehow it fits perfectly with the vibe.

PS Is it gray or grey?

Viva (and everyone else), thank you! One is the British spelling and one American - but I don't know which is which! There is an Agatha Christie mystery based on that.
