I am shopping with a client for cozzies and sunhats today so I shall report back Lori. Keep it wicker. It's so St. Tropez AND funky.

I'm considering purchasing a wicker sunhat with a wide-ish brim and a ribbon around the crown, sort of a homage to Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany's (the hat she pops on with her sunglasses and LBD) and the one Grace Kelly wears to the beach in to Catch a Thief, plus a shot of Vivian Leigh/Gone with the Wind for good measure. I'm not sure I have the guts to wear something so bold, though :) Is it strictly a beach look? Too retro?

One summer I was on a medicine that made me all but allergic to the sun, so I had to wear long sleeves and a sun hat all the time. It might be fun to have a hat again.

I saw some great hats at Macy's the other night.

I LOVE hats. Plus, I'm pretty fair-skinned, so it works.

I bought this hat a couple of years ago: http://www.jcrew.com/catalog/p.....=cat301261
and I wear it when I'm in the back yard, gardening, laying on the beach, or going on a picnic.

I have a hat cut similar to this:

But in a light-blue colored, faux wicker (I'm not sure what material it is), that I wear when I'm walking around like to the market or something similar.

I'm actually considering buying that last hat. Since I bike commute, carrying an umbrella isn't the most practical, but with a fancy coat, my wellies, and that hat, I could be stylish in the rain, too! (Sorry to get off topic).

Super Christie! The industry is not making hats to fit all head sizes. Many of them are too big. I am battling on this front with clients at the moment. Sigh….

I love the first hat Christie posted, and like the idea of a bucket-style wicker hat! Anyone know where to find smaller wicker styles? I'm still on the fence about hat-wearing I think I'm going to get the $10 wal mart (I know, I know...) wide brimmed straw hat, and then upgrade to something nicer if it gets a fair bit of wear. I haven't had a problem with hats in stores not fitting; but, as my grandma will tell you, I have a giant head. (She says when I was little she couldn't find cute hats that fit me, this was a particular problem as I was pretty much bald until I was 3).

I have a pretty small head and an oval face, and the JCrew one fits me fine. I bought the other smaller hat in a small shop in Montpelier, Vermont about 4 or 5 years ago. I would suggest keeping your eye out for similar small shops that might have fun accessories.
