So I decided that I couldn't survive this very atypical extended heat wave in Seattle with only three pairs of shorts. It's going to be in the 90's most of this week. Plus I'm going home this week for Dad's birthday, where it's even hotter.
I called former forum member Amy for lunch and shopping. Pretty much all the stores were having sales.
We hit up Madewell first. Shorts were a bust there but found some good tops. Mixed striped and plaid button down. Striped linen tee. I tried the charcoal version, but found it scratchy. Also got plastic white strap Birkenstocks (find shows black version). Couldn't find online the short sleeve blue plaid button down that was on sale.
JCrew was a total bust, despite trying on lots of shorts. But yeah overall we weren't impressed with there offerings. The "fashion" stuff was on the strange side, but the classics weren't working either.
We also stopped at a local boutique called Mercer. I was too big for everything I tried on, which was pretty disheartening.
Aritzia was unexpectedly good. I found these vintage Levi shorts in the bleached wash. True vintage and it shows how sizing has changed. I got a size 14. I really liked the high rise.

Also found a pair of short black silk shorts. I have a pair that used to be a workhorse, but now they're too small. So I was glad to find a new pair.
At Gap I got these striped shorts and the cut-off sweats.
I'm still not happy with my current size, but at least I now have stuff to wear.
