Q&A about individual items, ensembles, and wardrobe

summer pants

While the majority of you are still in summer I thought I’d engage your opinions on my little wardrobe of, well I suppose you’d call them cropped pants. Though bought 18 months ago, they haven’t been worn much, due to an intervening pregnancy. Now I am fairly sure that 2 out of 3 don’t conform to Angie’s guidelines for length, so I suppose my question is – should I hem them?

If they otherwise fit you well and are in good condition, then yes I'd hem them.. Otherwise I'd get one or two pair of denim clamdiggers ( dark denim and maybe white). They have been a huge hit here all summer at YLF.

Thanks Tanya, Have just edited my initial post to include photos. Please just evaluate pants not top!

Hmm, I am sorry to say this, but I think that the first pair is too wide and I don't like the bleaching effect on the third one. The second one has potential though, it fits you very well. I'd gem them and still get a a pair of dark denim clamdiggers.

I agree with Tanya's assessment of the pants you posted, though you *could* hem the third pair and still wear them around the house.

I don't care for the first pair...but it could be teh way you are standing. I think the second two pair are worth shortening to just below the knee

Anne, I'd say shorten the second one's definitely. I'd look for a pair of clam diggers, as Tanya suggested. If it's practical, I would shorten the last pair as well just to a backup. I've pretty much lived in my clam diggers this summer :)

Thanks for all the feedback. It is interesting everyone doesn't like the first one, I have been wondering if it might work if treated like a skirt - with a shorter top?

Also meant to say that I will definately look for some clamdiggers. I have been rereading Angies's posts on them and a lot of you were very hesitant back in April but I think it would be fair to say you are won over now? I would never have thought they were for any but the skinny legged before YLF!
