I am done with summer shopping. yesterday I found some 100% cotton skimmer pants and a pair of khaki linen/cotton just below knee pants that are sort of loose without being baggy. Ordered a pair of pewter sandals that will come next week, and counted out my 100% cotton t's and the rest of the cotton stuff in closet and drawers. So I can get by until fall with no more summer purchases. Last summer was one of our hottest on record, and was hot until November. I think I am prepared for this year. Fashion all seems to be geared to those who, in hot weather, go from air conditioned house to air conditioned car to air conditioned workplace, AC gym, AC resteurants, etc. without having to be in outdoor heat. This is why finding reasonably priced sportswear and other clothing without 2% spandex, polyester, and those other stretchy stuff, are so hard to find. If one is not outdoors or without AC then the clothing that doesn't breathe, sticks like glue, skinnies that feel like seran wrap on legs, doesn't matter. Being too old to bear a lot of skin doesn't help either. No wonder old people die in heat waves, sitting around encased in polyester.
