Hey everyone!

Long time no see! Well, I've been traveling a lot recently (dad was in the hospital) and things are beginning to get "normal" around my house only this week. Plus the main light above the mirror where I usually take WIW pictures got bust couple weeks ago but we just haven't had the time to get it fixed! It's been raining crazy (it is, after all, the monsoon season here in India) and the skies are grey & overcast everyday. So no natural light either :/

In any case, I thought I'd show you some things I got recently.

#1: Bag from Krabi, Thailand. It's a tote with a snap, and the smaller bag was inside the bigger one. I don't intend to use the smaller big as the 'closed pouch' inside the bigger bag, though. For that I got a plain black clutch I barely use....or the one I got in Thailand (in pic #4)

#2-3: A cross body bag my husband got me from House of Fraser. When I saw it, I thought "What? Another black bag! I just got two last week!" But once I saw it closely I realized it's more of an everyday out & about bag as it has all these pockets & zips to keep my stuff well organized (which the bags in #1 lack). And who am I kidding, ha? I almost always use a black bag....don't ask me why....I just do. So I'm sure I'll wear these out

#4: A cotton ethic print clutch I got in Thailand. Just love the print! I even got a cotton duffle bag in the same print!

#5: A recent purchase, I saw this cropped bomber last year but thought it was too expensive. Now that it's on 40% sale, it's a lot more affordable. Last winter I wore skirts with warm leggings a lot and a shorter jacket makes for better proportions. Plus I like the sporty vibe of it ALOT. I can also use it on flights and arctic cold airports.

#6: Me wearing the jacket. The lighting is horrid but I hope you get the idea of proportions.

#7: I got this cute grey Aztec print tshirt dress for our crazy summers. Looks super cute with sneakers. It's not *this* short on me, though!

#8: This is a beach coverup I got in Thailand. I LOVE the print. It's navy with a gorgeous white print both on the front & back though it's hardly visible here. I wear it as a tunic at home!

#9/10: A leather backpack has been on my mind since I came back from Thailand. I just find them soooo cute!!! And practical. I'm considering this one. Comes in brown too. Any thoughts?

Manny, you and I have bags on the brain!! I was thinking of you last night and wondering where you have been. I hope your dad's health is doing a bit better?

Also, so funny about pooch lying down on the floor while you take photos. That's what my cat does in the humidity, too.

My first thought when I saw the House of Fraser bag was, wait, will that fit my laptop?? (I know it won't; I guess the tote would...)

Seriously, these bags are all delicious. I really like the backpack, too, and prefer it for you in black because I can see it being used together with the crossbody for your next trip! Or for shorter trips to see family.

The little print clutch is also adorable!! It would fit inside the big tote really well.

The little jacket is perfect on you. I see what you are saying about proportion. Love the printed tunics also.

The bags you/hubby bought are beautiful and I love the backpack! Are you thinking of getting it? I love backpacks and have bought 2 new ones recently, black and very pale grey.

The bomber looks great on you and I love the tunic with it's arty white on navy print.

The bags are all great. The clutch is super cute. I usually carry a black bag too. I'm trying to expand my colors but even then I tend to stick with neutrals. The dress and beach cover-up look great and really useful. The bomber, from what I can see, also looks great on you--looks like the fit is perfect.

I'm privileged to have already had a sneak preview of the bags and you know I love them WRT to the back pack, I would maybe lean to the black for you I think Manny.

@Suz - thanks a ton! My dad's doing much better, thank you. You're absolutely right (as usual!) because I see the backpack and little cross body bag being used together too. Brilliant idea - isn't it??!!!

@Coco - I do have a canvas backpack I use on trips but I love this smaller, structured backpack even more because it's more stylish. Would love to see your new backpacks styled! I know Suz & Janet like to use their leather backpacks in the city, and I'm hoping I'll use mine for more than just traveling as well.

@Robin - I'm surprised at how versatile this bomber really is. Initially I thought I may struggle to style it as its not going to create the most flattering proportions with jeans - a winter staple. But when I wore it with dresses & skirts, I instantly remembered why I had loved it so last season (when I first tried it on) because I was wearing a dress to the mall. You should totally get one! Especially if you have a casual lifestyle and dressing style. It's seriously awesome with sneakers as well as boots!

@Jill - what's it with black bags?! I can't seem to get enough of them, and I own PLENTY of different styles. I do have other colors but always seem to reach for the blacks. These days I don't even feel bad about buying another black --- Atleast I'm sure I'm going to use it!

@Di - well, you always get to see my new purchases as and when I buy them! And I do value your inputs on everything so much. I think you're right....while the brown backpack looks so rich & lovely, I do honestly know that I'll use the black more often. So black it is!

I did own a bucket bag cum backpack earlier but never used it much (it was beige & red) because it lacked the structure I seem to prefer in bags. I think the structured black bag pack is "The One" for me!

I have to ask, did DH surprise you with that lovely House of Fraser bag? And did he pick it out himself? If yes to both, can we schedule a husband seminar that he can lead?????? (After 27 years, my lovely hubs has no real sense of women's style. He loves what I wear but never in a million years would he choose something so sophisticated. That bag is AMAZING.)

I love the backpack too and can see it with your crossbody, but part of my is getting black overload and wonders if you need a gorgeous deep brown backpack?

Thanks Isabelle! Well, the bomber IS a bit big. Something to do with the cut, honestly. I'm usually a size L or XL with most brands (I'm a UK size 14 otherwise) but I am wearing a Medium size here! The bomber has a very boxy cut. I guess that adds to its 'sporty' vibe?!

Well, my husband is quite a gem because the answer to both your question is YES! When I talk to him about 'fashion' or 'style' he appears to be quite CLUELESS. He rarely has any opinion about what I wear, apart from when I wear something sporty. But he ALWAYS manages to bring me these surprise gifts from all travels that are quite 'me'! When I asked him about this bag, all he said was "When I saw it, I knew you'd look great carrying it. And I know how many black bags you already have!"

The best of my bags have been surprise gifts from him. As with shoes --- somehow he picks the BEST kinds. Same with winter coats, jackets & watches.

I don't mind the boxyness, it's the wide shoulders and wide armholes that give me pause. As a result, it looks masculine and vaguely 90s to me.

Let's hope Angie will chime in to give you a more informed judgement.

I liked the blue bomber you showed us one month ago much better : do you need both ?

I see what you mean, Isabelle. And I have to be honest here --- the same thought has crossed my mind too.

Do I "need" two bomber jackets - NO. But do I "want" both - YES! However, I do not want a jacket that doesn't look good and just gets donated later.

The reason I like this jacket is because it's short and looks good with skirts/dresses. I think I better try the blue jacket with my skirts tomorrow and compare the two closely.

Good to have you back, Maneera! I'm glad to hear your dad's doing better, and you're able to ease back into the regular swing of your life.

You've acquired some awesome things in the past few weeks! I especially love that print clutch from Thailand, the t-shirt dress, and the bomber. I really like the backpacks for you, too. They suit your sporty vibe of late, but area ladylike enough to still have your trademark elegance.

I love the bomber on you, especially the short length. Bombers typically blouse over a bit, a look which may not do all women favors. The bomber is a masculine style, but I think this one is fairly feminine so I think it suits you, if that makes any sense.

I love all the bags, too, including the backpacks for which I generally have a poison eye.

Wonderful choices. If the bag in #4 was online, I'd order it. I love the backpack, especially how tailored it is, and the texture/print.
I've never really thought of wearing one, but now I'm tempted. I imagine it would be better for my shoulders.

I had the same thoughts as Isabelle on the fun bomber. Try a size down. if you can get one. Just a little big on the shoulder and armhole. Great look on you, though. Complements your growing sneaker capsule.

Hey Manny! I love the tunic on you (I go nuts for that sort of print). The bags are great purchases. Your husband is a gem and Emma is scrumptious. I also love the bomber on you and, fit issues aside, I think it looks better on you than the model. So cute with the skirt. I also have a leather backpack (black) and I find it very useful. I use it most days as a gym bag and often just instead of a regular handbag. It is easier on my neck and shoulders than a tote if I am carrying a lot of stuff. And great for dog walking type activities too - so you can be hands free. Here is mine. Glad your dad is doing better.

Thankyou very much, ladies! Barbara Diane - I'd love for you to have the same backpack! But I'm not sure this is a global brand. It's called Corsica and its one of those brands that are available only online, at only one particular shopping website. I think the brand works exclusively with them. The website is http://www.myntra.com but I don't think they ship outside India.

Brooklyn - thank you!!! I love your backpack and I'm glad to hear you can use it in a variety of ways...exactly what I have in mind for mine too. It'll not always be practical (can't always have my wallet on my back) but I feel it'll be useful for traveling, sightseeing, shopping, and even street walking (when I can put my wallet in my pocket).
