So not a bag lady

Even after all these years of reading YLF, I am not a bag person. I'm one of those "what's the fuss about?" people! But I needed a new bag because my old one was too small and I had lost a few things out of it.
So on Thursday I went to my local Mall because I had a Westfield voucher and told myself I WOULD NOT LEAVE until I had bought a bag.
So this is it. My daughter's were cooing over it so I guess it is alright!

I'm so not a bag lady either, and YLF taught me to stop wasting money and space on them.

LOL, I'm not a bag lady, either, even after 18 months on YLF. Maybe once the rest of my wardrobe is in place, I'll get more excited about bags.

I really do need one, although I take a backpack to work most days as well.
I wanted one with enough space to put my sunglasses in - that was another big reason.

I was never a bag lady before YLF but YLF has started to turn me into one. But I still need bags that are highly functional. I have learned that part of the reason I didn't love them before is that I did not understand the characteristics that made them truly useful to me. Now that I am clearer on that I can also enjoy what they add to an outfit.

I should hasten to add that YLF _has_ changed my purchasing in this area. Prior to YLF I bought a black bag from target every few years!

But I am not a multiple handbag type, don't have them as "wardrobe pets" a la Angie, and don't window shop them (like I do shoes).

Completely understand. To me it's not an accessory, it's a necessity. I like to have one decent one, that's about it. I never think about how it goes with my outfit.

Lovely! That is so sharp looking & timeless so it'll look good for years to come.

I'm not a bag lady either; I only carry one if my pockets aren't sufficient. And usually if I have at least one pocket, I can get everything I want in there.

That's a lovely bag Anne. Modern and the colour is gorgeous. I love bags but find them hard to buy, as in hard to find what I really love.

Nice bag, I love the color! I'm kind of a bag lady. I like to have a few nice ones for weekend outings. During the week it's the same old highly functional bag for work that spends most of its day in a filing cabinet drawer.

Me neither! But I do have my taste and am particular about the VERY few bags I do have. Funny, I went for a bold color (purple) for my daily bag several years ago, too. Enjoy!

It's a lovely bag, Anne, and well done for breaking out of the black bag rut. That teal colour should be very versatile for you.

I used to be a one bag woman, but I'm seeing them more as an accessory item now, and have added more colours and styles to my (small) collection.

Me , neither, not in the real collector sense. Partly because I don't spend much time carrying it, and also don't like frequent change-outs. But as you day, we need at least one and so you've done well to get one that looks stylish and is versatile. I like used that aren't too huge, either.

I love handbags, and your new one is wonderful.

I consider them as part of my overall "outfit" of the day, and switch routinely. That being said, I know what I don't like (flaps, and bags made out of floppy leather)...and what I like (cross body strap and if it has handles as well that's a bonus, leather with some structure, a slip pocket big enough for my big iPhone, interior organization).

another not a bad lady either. if it doesn't fit in my pockets I don't need it!

However I do need one occasionally and take the smallest one possible that holds what I need. Have a black good quality one that lives in my car. It holds a wallet with a few credit cards and drivers liscense, etc. I take it out with me when I am shopping because I may need more than one credit card.

What makes no scense to me is carrying a clutch like to a party or something. What do you do with it when you have a plate of food and a drink to handle? tuch it under your arm?

Another thing if you have this colored bag to accessorize an outfit like at work, what do you do carry it around all day. Where I worked purses were put into drawers for the day.

Great color! (Bags are a weakness of mine, along with eyeglasses...) I think when you find a bag that is very functional, it is a very special thing.

I too love the colour! Great for spring and summer . I can't operate those twist-lock flap closures though - I'm always admiring of women coordinated enough to work them and keep them done up at all times I'm in and out of my purse about every 14 seconds.

Interesting - some of you have interpreted "not a bag lady" to mean - not carrying a bag at all. I however usually do - although there have been stages where I carried a backpack with exercise gear and used its waist pockets as my bag.
For quite a few years I used a backpack as a nappy bag and kept the outermost pocket for my "handbag" stuff. I was quite pleased to start having a normal bag again after all those years with babies (and bought my first YLF approved one)
What I meant is that I don't really have a sense about what is good etc.

Whereas I started with YLF with not much of an idea about shoes, and now I have plenty - though I often can't put them into practice on my actual feet!
