Smythe jackets from ShopBop sale-- K/R?

So I love both jackets-- both are pretty different. I think the first one is an easy jacket to wear, classic. The second one is fun but a bit more dramatic. I like it a lot, but I'm not sure how much wear I could get from it?
Also, I would style these differently- a more fitted shirt underneath and maybe flares or skinnies with tall boots. I'd love to hear styling ideas as well.

As an owner of two equestrian Smythe jackets that get LOTS of wear - I love the vibe on you, lpr200. They are perfect with all sorts of jeans and trousers, year after year because they do not date. I keep the tops simple (like a t-neck or crew neck pullover) so that the jackets take centre stage.

But neither are a good fit here, and I'm sorry to dampen your excitement. 1# looks about a size small, and #2 two sizes small. They don't need to be large enough to close in front, but the equestrian silhouette needs to glide over the body like architecture. You need more room in the sleeves and more coverage in front. Tailored but not tight. Hope that makes sense. Try sizing up.

Angie, that is hugely helpful. Maybe that's why they didn't look right with that shirt. I'll keep looking!

These looks better on you than they ever do on me. The shoulders run crazy small and the whole line runs small, so I'm impressed these are so proportional. But I agree with Angie, this style needs to read differently than a regular blazer. The colors are fabulous on you though!

It is so interesting to hear Angie's feedback on these. I do like the look of both of these on you, but do agree that in particular, #2 looks too small. Having said that, the cut on these jackets is beautiful and I love the leather on the sleeves of jacket #2.

They are both so pretty. I hope you find one that fits better. I think #1 is such a gorgeous color, and the striped one is unique and fun. I like the leather accents.

I agree #2 looks quite small but it is really hard for me to imagine you in a larger version of 1!! It seems to fit you well in the back and shoulders and the arms are already long. What on earth does their fit model look like??

I think I have one waiting at home for me right now. Fully expecting it to fit only my thumb.

Those are lovely jackets. I especially like the first one on you. I hope you're able to get one in your size. I have one Smythe jacket, which was a NAS purchase a few years ago. I normally wear a petite 4 in jackets, but had to get a size 8 in the Smythe jacket.
