Thanks for the comments on the Anthro top. A lot of it isn't really my style, but every once in a while I find something that I like and I think could work really well in my wardrobe.
Christie, I just realized I totally got you mixed up with Julia! Sorry about that! Have you ever posted pictures on here? So, I'm not *sure* that the light citron cardigan would work on you, since I was thinking you had medium skin and dark hair, but I think the shape of it is great, especially if you are outside and then inside and need to carry a cardigan with you for air conditioning. That color still might be good (it would look awesome with white--very fresh and summery), and if not, I would definitely recommend trying it in another color.
Patience, I completely understand about the heat, since we're in the same city. Austin gets so humid and nasty during the summer. I probably won't wear my tunic over jeans look for much longer, but I am planning on pulling it back out when the weather gets a little cooler again. If you wait for Autumn, you may find more structured options that would work for you. I just bought the NY&Co tunic in brown, and it's pretty shapeless. I dropped it off at Ace Alterations today and I'm having it taken in quite considerably. I really like the color and the roll sleeves though--just my style. I am also definitely investing in more dresses this year--they are so easy and a lot cooler even than shorts, I think. You bought that bold floral dress from Ann Taylor, right? Love that! There's a place at the Arboretum called "Harold's," you might find some nice dresses in there as well. Good quality, and the style is comparable to AT or ATL.
P.S. Patience, I have to get things altered quite often and my bill is really racking up at Ace Tailors. Do you know any other places that do a really good job but maybe don't cost as much? I know Ace charges $22.50 to do a simple hem on a dress ($28.50 if you want to preserve the hem). They always do a fantastic job, but it would be nice if there was an equally great, less expensive place in town. Since I've only lived here a couple of years, I thought maybe you might have a better suggestion. Thanks!
