Q&A about individual items, ensembles, and wardrobe

Should I keep or keep trying?

I bought these Kahn jeans and thought they were great. However, before I took them to get hemmed, I tried them on and now I am not so sure. Is the color too faded? Should I try for a different wash? These are 3777 Nikki, color Huntington. I especially wonder about the difference in wash between the front and sides. Has anyone else seen or tried these?
They were very expensive for me and I want them to be worth it.
Can you help?

The fit is to die for. I like the wash but it does look more casual than a dark jean.

I think the wash is dark enough and the fit looks great. There is a bit of whiskering -- is that what is bothering you?

I guess everyone has been talking about dark wash jeans and I don't want to buy these if they are out or on the way out!

They fit beautifully. That is an attractive wash - it's about what you're looking for. They won't work as well for smart casual, but if you're putting together fashionable looks I think they would work beautifully!

I should say if you're putting together fashionable casual looks...

They look great, and the fit is amazing!
I would suggest getting a uniform dark wash if you are looking to invest in one pair - I think it's a lot more versatile.

You can't beat the fit...but I find the fading to be a bit bohemian. Do they come in a more consistent option? Less whiskering and fading ?

I don't know. I think you girls are right that a uniform wash would be more versatile. Maybe someone on here knows if they come in a dark wash. I will research and see what I can find.

Maybe I am the odd person out, but I really like both the fit and the wash.

I have a pair of DKs in a wash called "crystal" and it's darker than this, but I also have a pair in a wash more like yours. Different styles come in different washes, so maybe you'll need to try a different style to get a darker wash.

I think the fit looks great on you!

As for the wash - depends on whats already in your wardrobe! Is this going to mix it up a bit?

Maybe I will keep these and look for a pair of darker wash straights or skinnies. These do make my normally short, chunky thighs look thinner-that doesn't happen every day! I usually only have a couple of pairs of jeans that I wear at any one time, so I could use another new pair.

DK makes a straight leg jean that's a very dark wash - maybe it's even black? - I can't quite tell from the photo.

It's a big investment though. The Express Mia skinnies also come in very dark washes and they're only about $60.

Just wanting Angie's opinion. Sorry for bumping up my own post.

yooohoo, I'm here.

The fit is GREAT. How casual is your lifetstyle?

Posted 1 year ago

Thanks, Angie! My lifestyle is casual. I'm a teacher.

Sorry about that. For some reason, I lost the connection. Anyway, we live a casual life, but I would like to be able to wear these jeans out to dinner, to the city when we get to visit, etc.

The wash is borderline smart-ish. Try a darker wash?

Next week I will have a chance to shop at Nordstroms, so I will try a darker wash. Hopefully, I can find another pair that fits as well!

Good idea, Susan. Keep us posted and I'm holding thumbs.
