shorter boots with skirts??

I have noticed that I am seeing either over the knee or shorter boots with skirts as a new look that my eye is adjusting to. I have been trying on boots that I have to see what works with what.
These are Aquatalia boots that I got a few years ago, I have only worn them with pants. What do you think of them in an outfit like this? Thanks!!

Stunning!!! Yes, yes, yes!!!! I love this on you. I think all of the proportions look right on.
I have noticed a trend towards shorter boots and I love that it is here. I have felt for years that boots had to hit right under the knee to look good with skirts, but this shorter boot look is much more feminine and flirty looking to me. I can't wait to try it when the weather cools.

I love the short boots under skirt and dresses look Jean. I don't think it's for everyone though, depends on the shape of your legs and other factors too. But on you: fab!
(I think you could go even a little shorter, shorter shaft height I mean;-)

I think that look works on you Jean! You totally pull it off. I agree with Inge on the shaft height; I think a shorter shaft boot would also look great with the outfit.

Thanks everyone, I agree that a shorter shaft would definitely work, however my question is about these particular boots. Can I get away with wearing them with a skirt as posted??

I'm also feeling this look for Autumn, I think it works wonderfully on you and I also think it would work with a skirt length that sits just above the knee.

I contemplating whether to purchase 14 eye or 20 eye Dr Martens for this reason so will be watching the replies to this thread with interest.

Was it your trip to the UK that inspired this look?

Boots were all heights, many mid calf. I love my knee length boots but I am really liking the more artistic, fashionable flair a shorter boot with skirts has. I wonder if this will last. I know knee-high boots are classic. I have the 20 eyelet docs. I think the shorter ones will be edgier if that is the look you are after, either would work with skirts.

I like this look on you, the proportions look great! I've been wondering if I could wear those short NAS boots with a denim skirt, I'll give that a try.

Great question, thanks for posting! I think those look good on you. I agree that it takes some time for the eye to adjust to this look after many, many years of wearing boots to right below the knee with skirts. It will be fun to try something new this fall.

I’m all over shorter boots with short skirts this season. I think this outfit will look even better with a slightly shorter skirt. It needs knee cap. It seems to balance out proportions with the calf length boots.

Jean I think this height boots/skirt totally works on you!! My only suggestion would be slightly less black going on in the outfit - or maybe I'm just not used to seeing you in so much black?? Maybe a coloured pair of tights?

Jean I think it looks great. My red boots are about this length and I love them. I don't know if its wetaher related (i.e. not too cold here) but I find these get more wear than my knee high boots. Or maybe that's because they feel more casual and that suits my lifestyle? Anyway I think the outfit you have put together looks great regardless!!!!

R&J, I have 20 eyelet Docs as do others on this forum. Love them. I'm wearing them with clams here:

My suggetsion would be to get the 20 eyelet as opposed to the 14 eyelet. Get another style of boot in a shorter length.
