Q&A about individual items, ensembles, and wardrobe

shopping list for summer

I am going shopping in the city next week and planning to get my summer shopping started on.

I did a wardrobe clean out last night (goodbye maternity knickers and all those C-cup maternity bras, also one of my suits) and discovered I have a lot of dresses already. Not sure if I should put another one on my list...
Anyway in order of priority
* Some nude shoes (maybe sandals)
* comfy flat sandals
* shorts - maybe black
* a puffed short sleeve tartan blouse
* a tank with some ruffles or neckline details (a standalone piece for really hot days
*a sundress, if I can find one that is just right
*maybe some leggings, although that will be more of a spring look

I bought quite a lot last summer so that should be ample.

Any comments

Looks like a great list Anne!

I would personally choose white shorts over black, it is so much more of a fresh look for warm weather.

Tanya, I am quite drawn to white shorts, but am a bit worried that with 3 little ones and my own messiness I'd never keep them clean!

Good list, Anne. Do you have enough tops and frocks?

Well done getting rid of those maternity knickers, i hope you get everything off your list x

Excellent list Anne, I think you can definitely use some fun tanks (ruffle details are great) in your climate. And shoes are so important too. I hope you have a lovely day shopping. Keep us posted?

You have some gorgeous clothes Anne, good luck on your shopping trip, I always find targeted shopping hits quite draining. I take it someone is babysitting the kids so the clothes get your full attention?

Thanks Julie, I did a lot of shopping last Aust summer (my first forum summer)and I am pretty content with the tops
To tell the truth I am not that happy with a couple of the dresses. The problems aren't great, just a few things a bit off. Might start a new thread on that.

I will get to shop without the kids as my Mum will look after them. No way could I do it with them! I also find targeted shopping quite stressful (as opposed to just wandering around in my lunchbreak) and have to make breaks in my time for cups of tea and food or end up with a splitting headache. I am going to a specialty shoe shop and really want to nail the shoes as a top priority. If necessary the other things can wait and just be bought at in the smallish town I live in (though I kind of prefer not, because that increases the chance that someone else I know will have the same item!)

Thanks, Anne! The selection of tops looks great. I think you could probably add a few more frocks. It gets hot in your neck of the woods :0)

It certainly does. And a casual daydress that is really cool but modest enough to not just be fit for the beach ( I have some of the latter I haven't pictured) is what I was thinking of getting.
