Q&A about individual items, ensembles, and wardrobe

shoes for a wide forefoot

My shoe size is 8.5/9 and it is wide at the forefoot. Most shoes are too narrow and the wide width shoes don't really work for me. I figured I would share what works for me and see if you ladies had any other suggestions. A lot of these are clunky and I would like to get some nice girly ones.

- Earth Piroutte (there is an only style that fits wider than the current models)

-Keen Presidio shoes http://www.zappos.com/n/p/dp/16739520/c/714.html

-Chaco Unaweep http://www.zappos.com/product/7222239/color/102074

I'm afraid I have no advice because I have this problem and haven't found any solutions. I have been searching for years now and probably spent thousands of dollars on shoes with no luck. Everything that's comfortable will fall off my heel, and everything that stays on my heel is too narrow in the forefoot. The only shoes that I find truly comfortable are boots, my Cons, and my blissfully comfy Saucony sneakers, which only come out for my twice daily brisk walk.

I am going to give Privo a try, but after so many years of failure I have to confess that I am a complete pessimist. I don't have any reason to believe that this brand will succeed where others have failed, but my hope is that they're more athletically-minded, they'll fit more like my sneakers.

My only advice is to just try every brand you possibly can, and hope something turns up.

Maya, I have tried Privos. A lot of the styles fit well over the forefoot but are loose in the back. I could have used the heel spaces/slip-grip things but none of the styles were compelling enough.

I am considering getting the Birkenstock Gizeh sandal as a last option.
