Shoe reviews (flats)

I dropped by Nordstrom last week to try on these:

http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/30.....veforlater

Look: They are really cute on.
Fit: The sole is super cushy a la Me Too. However, I found the scrunched style to push on my toes a bit. I probably could have tried a size larger and I suspect they will also stretch out and relax but I wanted to give a heads up on this issue. Pressure on top of my big toe is one area where my feet tend to be fussy.
Color: I tried the red. I was expecting more of a blue-red, not super bright. The shoes are not bright at all but they did have a slight rusty or orangey tone to them. Still red and a great color, just a little different from what I was seeing on the website. They did not have the purple in the store and the metallics are beautiful.
Overall: I'm going to resist the temptation but I hope to enjoy them on some YLFer soon.

I also tried these which someone here must need (not on Nordstrom website):

http://shop.marmishoes.com/browse.cfm/4,2647.html

Look: These are wild and so fun.
Fit: Quite comfy because the upper is stretchy fabric rather than leather.
Color: That's what's so awesome about these shoes.

I ended up ordering the loafer I posted about earlier:

http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/30.....rchresults

Look: I'm in love and I can't resist. I needed a new pair of casual skimmers and I think I'm going to go for these instead.
Fit: Also very cushy. I'm afraid this is not the shoe for Maya as out of the box they look like a reverse triangle-- wide heel and narrow toe box. I was afraid this would not work for me either, but the toe box is molding to my foot and the heel stays put.
Color: The purple looks like it will function as a neutral yet it's still *purple.*

Wow thanks for the in-depth reviews Patience. Those wedges are gooorgeous. My favorite of the bunch! Did you get them or just try them?

I'm after loafers with a slightly lower vamp anyway, so that's okay. I really like the driving mocs J Crew has each season, so I keep checking ebay to see if any good ones pop up at the right price. I actually had a dream about loafers last night :p I was getting dressed and put on some orange suede loafers that I wore with jeans, a polkadot top, and a red cardigan. I am now determined to make that outfit happen in real life!

Thank you for the reviews Patience! I have my eyes on those Me Toos! And those wedges are to die for.

I tried those Me Toos on yesterday as well (also the red). I noticed the same issues as you. I felt that they ran short -- my toes didn't have quite enough room. I also have a sensitive achilles tendon/heel and hate when shoes rub that area of my foot and the moment I tried these on I knew that they were cut too high for me and I knew they would rub and give me blisters on my heel. It's a shame!

Mariana, I always have to size up 1/2 size with Me-Too's. Actually, with *all* ballet flats. I think because when they're super flat, my foot kinda blobs out and gets bigger all over...

I recently ordered two pairs of Me-Too's from Zappos, to give the new models a try. I ordered the Legends in Zebra (I just couldn't resist!!), and Limits in purple suede. Cross fingers they work... because I live in my Me-Too's...

Shiny, the Legends are on my list too. Let me know how they work out!

Hah, Patience! You and I are in driving shoes this season. Snap :0) Your loafers are very similar to my Tsonga loafers. Obvioulsy, I think your new loafers are GREAT. Very Euro. I hope you love them too.

Shiny, I've tried on both of the Me Toos’ you’ve ordered. They were comfy!

Maya, I did not get the Vaneli wedges, but I am seriously considering them. I also like the Sam Edelman cheetah print shoes you tried too. So I'm debating.

Angie, even though I haven't worn loafers in a long time, I think there must be a secret loafer wearer deep down because I am very excited about these. Yummy!

Oh no, but Angie! Your feet are more narrow than mine... I wear different style Me-Too's than you do, I believe. Not all their styles work for my foot.

Oh well, it's Zappos. I can always return. If they don't work out, I might try Maya's GC's... those are seriously cute...

My feet *are* narrower than yours, Shiny, but you never know. The printed pair is quite stretchy. I’m holding thumbs!

pssst Patience, I’m also a secret loafers wearer. I am always sticking up for the style and pop lots of clients in loafers too. You see lots of loafers worn in HK. With socks! Let me know how yours work.

I also dig the loafers. I think they are making a comeback - I am seeing alot of them in mainstream stores. Maybe the ballet flat craze is finally dying down???

Oh, very cute. Thanks for posting these, Patience and Shiny. I may become obsessed with the zebra-striped Me Too Legends.
