What do you wear if you know you will go to a party and likely be asked to remove your shoes? I know there was a thread on this topic three years ago, but the discussion was more about the etiquette of asking guests to remove shoes (or the etiquette of dirtying someone's house with one's muddy, germy soles).

What I'm curious here is not so much the etiquette debate, as I have accepted that in my circles people always remove their shoes (though I grew up in Latin America, where this custom is unheard of! The first time I was asked to remove my shoes on a trip to Canada, I was unprepared and had socks with holes in them!)

Anyway. Do you plan an outfit that looks good shoeless? Do you avoid, say, stockings or silhouettes that need lift in the heels? Or do you bring clean shoes to change in (and if so, do you stand out if everyone else is barefoot)?
