Shoe-off, keep or return?

So here they, styled as requested.
#1-#3 white leather brogues. Now that I look at them more and more they seem like golf shoes.
#4-#6 black and metallic green heeled booties. I can't wear them now due to the heel. But I might be able to wear them in the fall. Or should I only buy things that I can definitely wear now?

So keep one or the other, or return both? Honesty appreciated.

i kinda like bootie, i do think the white shoe look like a golf shoe and i love the top in 4-5

I love the black/green ones and like the style of the whites, but would prefer them in a different color or two-toned. You look very pretty and summery

I was a nay on the white brogues before and I'm afraid I haven't changed my mind. They still look too much like athletic shoes to me (golf shoes is a good description!) Up close they are not bad (although I would swap the laces out for round, non-sneakery ones) but from a distance I do not like the look.

LOVE the booties. I'm not sure it's the best idea though to keep them since it's not certain that your back will be healed enough to wear them in the near future. I'm assuming you did not get them somewhere like Nordies with a no-time-limit return policy, did you?

Oh, well, in that case, I would keep the booties for a while (say, until the fall) and then return if you're still not able to wear them. They really are fab!

I like the white shoes, but would like to see them styled in a more casual way. With your "trendy sweat pants" maybe? And a blazer. With this outfit, they look a little too athletic sneaker to my eye. What do you think?

I vote return the heels. As great as they look Anna, you have plenty of very high heels that you can't wear at the moment because of your back. Who knows whether you will even be able to wear the ones that you own again? Plus, you mentioned that you had to stretch your pennies a little further recently. It's just not a wise decision.

Call me crazy, but I absolutely ADORE the white brogues. I think these could really work and they do look extremely comfy - are they comfy? I like Angie's idea of styling them in a more casual way.

I also vote for returning the heels. I've now joined the Buy What You Can Wear Now Club and there's just no point in purchasing something that you "might" be able to wear. It would be like me buying a dress two sizes smaller 'cause I "might" lose weight and wear it one day. It makes it an impractical purchase.

BTW - I love you in that floral outfit Anna. You pull it off with such panache!

Academically, I agree with Angie. But I have such a weak spot for shoes that if both of these were in my posession, I'm not sure I could return either of them. I actually love the red soles on the white shoes, and I LIKE that they have an almost "athletic" vibe - that's what saddle shoes were for, after all, and even though these aren't saddle shoes they give me the same happy feeling.

And the booties are killer. Love the almost-bowed heel (very McQueen) and the metallic. I completely get that they aren't practical if you cannot currently wear them, and I have been trying to stop buying things that are impractical for myself. But they ARE gorgeous.

I like the white shoes and think you could have a lot of fun with them. Based on everything you've been saying here, it seems like the black booties should go back. They are fabulous, to be sure, but as Angie mentioned, you have A LOT of gorgeous high heels already (and weren't you thinking about selling some?). Seems to me like right now it wouldn't make much sense to add to a collection of high heels that you don't know when/if you'll be able to wear them again.

Hm, I quite like the brogues, like Angie and Shannon --- and I surprise myself because I'm not big on white shoes, but I like the detailing and wood-look heels. It's the heels that are worrying me --- not because they aren't very sweet, but because they do NOT play with your current body (which is an idea that shouldn't be just about size and shape, but also health I think, and indeed even more so!).

I love the white brogues! If anyone can style them so they're not golf shoes, it's you!

The heels to me look like they'd be painful to someone with the healthiest of backs. I'd return those.

I'd actually return both of them. The black ones not because they aren't fab but because you can't wear them for the foreseeable future. Use the money for something else. Same holds for the white brogues, although others would disagree with me. My reason is you are already doubting them, it's not love at first sight like some of your other recent flat shoe purchases.

I would vote to return both of them. The heels are gorgeous, but it is not certain when you would be able to wear them again. I like the idea of white brogues, but I do not like the sole on them - makes them look a bi like sneakers. I would hold out for another pair with a proper shoe sole.

I do think the heels are beautiful but as others mentioned, I don't think it's a good idea to add another pair of fab high heels that cause you pain when you wear them. Add items that you can wear now!
I'm torn on the white brogues. I love the detailing but to me their chunky-ness is what's giving the "athletic sneaker" vibe. I'd like to see a shoe with the same detailing but in a slightly sleeker shape.
Gosh, I LOVE that gray blouse on you, Anna. 4-5 is SUCH a breathtakingly lovely outfit on you.

I like the idea of the white brogues, but I agree there's something not quite right about this particular pair. I'm also getting a sneaker or golf shoe vibe from them.

I love the heels, but I would be worried about adding to your already fab heel collection considering your back issues and your doubts about being able to wear them.

That's a hard choice on the shoes. I agree with everyone else about not keeping the heels when you can't wear them now. You have been finding the coolest flats, ever (I'm jealous!). The white shoes remind me of http://www.stevemadden.com/Ite.....038;np=613 that I have been coveting since I tried them on a few months ago. Those would be a hard decision.

Brogues look like trainers, so return if you are just not after that look.

I don't know the sort of back problems you have, but if doctor has told you not to wear heels for some time, I think you should stick to lower heels for the rest of your life. I know you adore high heels, but those are very, very, very high, and certainly not good for anyone's back.

Return. There are so many amazing shoes out there, much more amazing than these white brogues and much less potentially painful than the high ones.

I don't think you should keep the heels. Once you are certain you can wear them you will find plenty more around. Don't add to your collection of shoes you can't wear!

I still like the white ones. Even if they do look like golf shoes I'm still a fan of this look, esp. with the bright strip at the bottom. I have a pair of white Naot leather sneakers that sort of similar vibe to this and I've worn them to death. They have a silver band. I bought them for Europe and wore them with jeans, trench and scarf and they were awesome. I second Angie's request to see them styled more casually. I would like to see them with skinny jeans?

I am not a fan of the white shoes--they look too "orthopedic" to me. The booties are cute but the heel looks like it may be too high for you if you are having back pains.

Just wanted to say that I love love love your matchy matchy H&M floral shirt and pants outfit though!
