Satin Pencil Skirt Suggestions

Hello Everyone,

About a month ago I bought a black satin pencil skirt that hits just below my knees with three medium-sized buttons on the high waist. I absolutely love this skirt.

I had bought a skirt exactly like it about a year at the same place, but it was a different material, and happened to be a little too tight on me, so I ended up selling it to Plato's Closet.

Anyway, I would like to know what others suggest for making my pencil skirt look more casual. The only thing that I have been pairing with it have been my black suit jacket, or black/silver pinstripe long sleeve button down and my black pointy toed kitten heels. I have those two "professional" looks down, but I would like casual make both of those look more casual, as well as get other ideas for it.

Thank you!

A popular way to dress down a pencil skirt is a graphic T and cardigan, or wearing a jean jacket over a cotton top. Also to make is more casual go for a lower vamp shoe.

I look forward to seeing the outfits you put together!

Yup, a cropped little denim jacket was the first idea that came to my mind, too! Underneath you can try a graphic T, or a sleeveless top in one of "your" colors, with or without a print.

I had the same thoughts...the right graphic tee and a cropped, fitted denim jacket. Instead of the denim jacket, maybe a biker jacket with lots of hardwear, in fabric or leather, and that's not black would also keep it casual.

the gals have you covered already with the graphic tee idea! layering with a biker jacket or denim jacket is great too! accessories can also have an impact on an outfit...

for shoes, i think ballet flats or flat boots would look nice, depending on the weather. don't forget the power of tights with boots!

a fun chunky necklace, bangles, or funky earrings can make it a little more carefree and less corporate. you could also try adding a belt- depending on the style of it, it can make the outfit a little more casual.

and finally, scarves can make an outfit more casual too, depending on the material. i'd steer away from silk scarves for a casual look.

ok, let's see some outfits now! :)
